Haliaeetus leucocephalus, is the scientific name given to the famous bald eagle, however, a very curious fact about this bird is that it is also called the American eagle. However, in other areas it is known as: American eagle or simply, the white-headed eagle.

This imposing bird is part of the Accipitridae family and is native to North America. Mainly, the white eagle is very famous because it is part of the patriotic symbols of the United States since it appears on the coat of arms of this nation.

the bald eagle's diet is 100% carnivorous because it can easily consume fish such as trout, salmon, horses and cod. The way they hunt is usually very curious because, it perches very close to the water and grabs them with its sharp claws, without having to dive into the water. If they are in an area other than water, they can feed on squirrels, herons or mice.
