Benefit of Eating Beans
Beans are one of the common foods that we used to eat throughout the world. Beans are one of the most nutritious foods, and that's why I choose them as one of my favorite foods, especially when I cook them with rice. They are also used as animal feed to provide the quality nutrients they need.
Fresh beans, direct from the farm, are dried as a method of food preservation to enhance longevity. Beans, especially when boiled with water, can be enjoyed with family and friends. In fact, they can be made into different meals such as bean cakes known as Ekuru, moi moi, Akara, and gbegiri. All of these are traditional Nigerian meals that provide full energy all day long.
Sometimes, I used to take Akara with pap; believe me, it's one of the best meals that give me full satisfaction. Beans are not considered food for the poor as they were regarded in those days; in fact, they're so costly that most people cannot afford to purchase them. It's necessary to cook beans thoroughly so that it can destroy the toxins that they contain.
Slowly cooking beans is unsafe for our health, and it serves as poisoning because it does not fully remove the toxin from the beans.
The Benefits of Beans include the following:
➡️Beans serve as food that controls appetite; this normally occurs due to the fiber and starches they contain, which create a feeling of fullness. As a result, it prompts humans to drink water in order to prevent overeating in their stomach.
➡️It also contributes positively to heart health as a result of eating beans regularly because they contain high fiber, which can replace fatty meats in our diet. Eating more beans would reduce cardiovascular diseases as well as heart diseases caused by high cholesterol.
➡️Beans also help prevent diabetes and high blood sugar levels that commonly occur in humans, especially for those predisposed to them.
➡️Beans contain protein, which is one of the most important components for repairing our bodies. The nine amino acids serve as the building blocks of proteins in our body cells.
We have different varieties of beans and their color also differ depends on the individual choices.
