The grapes are really growing well for this reason

For a long time it has been said that grapes cannot be grown in warm climates like Ghana, but this farm defies that statement.

The grape fruits are hanging heavy on a wire and a support system of poles. This is important to the farm because big grape bunches become very heavy, and if they were to fall to the ground in the mud they would become dirty and rot quickly because of the wet grass.

The main point of this farming technique is how to control the leaves of the plant. Grape plants have an some serious tendency to grow wild leaves around the plant. And when a grape plant is using all of its energy for making green leaves instead of peeling grape fruits then this technique is very secret to the farmer. And that is cutting off the useless branches around the grapes. This way the grape plant stops making wood and starts to put all the food it makes into the grape clusters.

I'll add that also cutting the vine in order to control the leaves, is a secret of successful farmers. Grapevines tend to produce an excess of wild leaves just so they grow. All the energy of the grapevine is then consumed by these green leaves to grow instead of to produce grapes.

If a farmer doesn’t cut the vine in order to control the leaves, the energy of the grapevine would be wasted by producing many wood growth instead of producing grapes.

Cutting the vine allows the sun rays to fall directly on the fruits. The sun rays eliminate the sour taste of the grape and transform it into sugar. This is why some of the fruits are already dark purple and some others are still green. The purple ones have already gotten enough sun to transform into sweet grapes.

So that means, successful farming is not just planting seeds and watering them. It is knowing how a plant works and how to take care of it to get the best results.
