Queen – Bohemian Rhapsody

The song, which was written by Freddie Mercury for the 1975 album A Night at the Opera, has a peculiar musical structure with no chorus and is divided into six sections: an a cappella introduction, a ballad, Mercury's guitar solo, which it is considered as a top 20 hit in the UK, an opera segment, a rock section and the final coda.

The theme was recorded over three weeks from August 24, 1975 in a studio in Wales. A total of 180 separate recordings were required to create the final product, with daily sessions lasting between ten and twelve hours and Freddie Mercury, Brian May and Roger Taylor singing their parts almost out of breath.

Bohemian Rhapsody was a real hit when it became available as a single and spent nine weeks at the top of the UK charts. As a result of the Bryan Singer-directed film, in which actor Rami Malek plays the late Queen frontman, the song gained popularity again after Mercury's death in 1991.

According to a statement from Universal Music Group, the song was recently promoted on streaming services. To establish that Bohemian Rhapsody was the most popular song of the 20th century, he used data from all users who had signed up for on-demand services such as Spotify, Apple Music and Deezer, as well as official streams of the song and video on YouTube, where the song has received nearly 800 million views.
