Night Shift, My DTIYS Challenge Entry

Hello dtiys Community,

This is my version of the night shift. The reference drawing is by @cjsean. I saw it posted on the DTIYS community today. I am using a style with line pencil drawing mostly then flat base color with stark contrast of light and shadow.

I did not expect anything from my drawing but was happy with the final look. I almost gave up and would want to switch style but glad I stick to it.

Here are some work in progress drawings

My idea is a bat appropriately dressed and is walking its way to the workplace at night time. Was debating if I use a vampire cape or a casual hoodie. Well,it turned out to be more of a trench coat in the end.

Here is the final line drawing with most of the details visible.

This shade of purple for the background is the only color I am loving while deciding on the palette. I thought I would use some more colors but this is a night scene. Monochromatic may just do the trick and oh boy I was right. Then punctuate the boring dark scene with a yellow color for the moon and white for its reflection on surfaces. I simply love it.
