For this question you can take this example So suppose you are sitting in a room and you are facing headache in your head instead of taking a medicine pill you spread medine mist all around the room same the case was with the farmers their crops were attacked by some bad buds instead of spraying on that part they would spray the entire yield for small few bugs which was on one side much expensive as well as on other side it was also destroying the soil as well as making the food bad
But now after the introduction of technolgy in field whenever a crop attack on a crop then an alert is sent to the farmer mobile and also show it the exact location of the bud so that the bud is killed and spray is used only one that single part instead of all yield which is much cheap and also less affecing .
🚜 Automation
To be honest we all know that farming in a summer when sun is over your head and its rays is making you feel exhausted as well as makes you black but you requires to cut up crops and drive the tractor (massive big agriculture vehicles)a drive it through the big yield .
But It can also be done while you are sitting in your home and doing rest by a robotic tractor that can drive through the yield through the use of GPS and also can pluck of the strawberries by seeing their colour if they are ready to be eaten then they plucked them and collect them .Hence the farmer can get ready to eat strawberries .
🎯 Precision Agriculture
So the term Automation means that technolgy works in the yields i mean devices like drons etc .It is hard for a single farmer to take care of big yieldfull of crops and it is quite impossible for the them to give them water on time and in same quantity and also spray them with fertilizer which pollutes river which causes eutrophication
(As now I am in 10 but in 9th class I had read this term which was intresting and also increased my knowlegde)
Means that it promotes the growth of algae which such more oxygen for water so that there causes lack of oxygen and other aquatic plant and animals eventually come in the risk of death
but now due to technoly farmer can know that which part is dry and which has less nutrients and also which need fertilizers by only with drones and water automatic systems etc which also water crops on time whenever they need that saves big costs and as well as time So the farmer can only fertilize the crops which needed to be fertilized.
