◉ What is agriculture, and why is it important for human societies?

Agriculture is simply the planting of crops or rearing of animals either for human needs like food or for sales. Also agriculture is one of the things that bring income and wealth to the society because on the day of the new yam festival yams are brought to the head chief or king's house and also some are sold to help and strengthen the community.

◉ What are the main types of agriculture practiced globally (e.g., subsistence, commercial, industrial)?

Agriculture is categorized in different types which include

1 Subsistence agriculture
This is the kind of agriculture that deals with rearing of animals or growing of crops for the purpose of feeding and this includes shifting cultivation and pastoral nomadism.

2 Commercial agriculture this is simply the kind of agriculture that deals with planting and rearing of animals that are for the purpose of sales and profit.

3 Industrial agriculture is a large scale farming which uses advanced technology for the production of agricultural product mainly for either environmental consequences or or agricultural and economic return.

4 Organic Agriculture this is simply the type of agriculture that deals with the avoiding of synthetic chemicals focusing on sustainability.

◉ Can you list some key crops grown around the world and their uses?

Maize ; maize is one of the important crops which is grown world wide because of it's impact on human feeding what I mean is that most of the food we eat like cornflakes are made from corn and even the cereal we eat are products of corn.

Tomatoes; tomato is one of the things which we consume in a week at least once because of the many things we can use it to do and also it is a good fruit that helps in the production of tomato sachet and tin.

Cassava ; this is one of the key crops that has nothing of it as waste what I am saying in essence is that from the stick to the crop it self there is nothing that is wasted because the peels of it are feeds for goats sheeps and even pigs. The cassava tuber is used for flour, garri , and it can be used for producing semovita also.

Thanks for reading my post I will now love to call on @bonaventure24 @chiagoziee @eliany and @ninapenda to also take part in this contest .
