Agricultural Story #12
Hi everyone,
My participation to the above topic are discuss below and I hope we are going to learn from each other in order to add to what we already know. This leaves is delicious because we use to eat different type of swallow food.
Jute leaves are known as ewedu in Yoruba land. They are very common in the southwestern part of Nigeria. Ewedu is a Yoruba soup that can be served with pounded yam or Amala. I love ewedu so much because it has health benefits. African women can also plant the seeds of ewedu in their backyard. It's better to water the plant morning and evening. When it is fully mature, they can remove the ewedu leaves and boil them. It's very important to add a little salt to bring out the unique taste.
It can be found easily because many farmers are involved in irrigation processes when there is no more rain. Both children and aging people like it because it keeps their skin looking fresh all day long. Research also states that jute leaves are used to make soap and serve as a means of blood tonic to replace the blood that has been lost. People who engage in this type of farming are making money. In fact, most of them often export it to other places because they know the medicinal benefits.
Ewedu leaves contain a high amount of fiber which helps to treat stomach upsets and also helps humans to control blood pressure. These leaves are so amazing to the extent that they improve our eyesight so that we can see clearly. They are natural leaves that promote well-being and also give us the opportunity to maintain a good balanced diet.
Commercial farmers can apply fertilizer to the plant, especially if the soil is not fertile enough. Jute leaves are in high demand in the market because every household in Yórúbá land likes to prepare it for their family.
I would like to invite @okere-blessing, @jasminemary and @josepha to participate in this contest.
