What are the differences between organic and conventional farming?

These are the two definite approaches in the field of agriculture both has it own characteristics and practices for the environment and for the economy of the society.

ORGANIC FARMING

This farming is emphasized on importance of sustainability and health environment. The organic farmers in this type of farming don't use artificial pesticides and fertilizers, instead of these things they use alternative sources of fertilizers and pesticides which are not synthetic.

This perspective is important for the health of environment which is effective for the development of soil fertility and can reduce the erosion. This type of farming also emphasises the poly culture practices which can stop the diseases of the plants.

CONVENTIONAL FARMING

On the other hand, the conventional farming use the modern techniques of the agriculture that involves the use of the man made chemicals they can be pesticides and fertilizers. The purpose to use these artificial products to enhance the production of crops and to stop the diseases of the crops. This approach of farming produce food at a low cost. This often emphasizes on the monoculture means that the cultivation of one crop over the larger area. This approach of farming increases the productivity but also affect the soil health and degradation of the environment and also affect the human health dua to chemicals.

Explain how organic and conventional farming methods impact soil health.

ORGANIC FARMING

The organic farming focuses on the importance of natural methods. One of the chief principles of this type of farming is the use of the organic materials. The organic materials improve the structure of soil, enhance the microbial ecology and foster the presence of organisms which are benifical. The organic matter is effective to reserve the moisture, decrease the process of soil erosion and supply the essential nutrients to the crops.

CONVENTIONAL FARMING

The synthetic materials such as pesticides and fertilizers to enhance the production of the crops use in the conventional farming. But these synthetic materials can provide immediate benifits bht they can cause degradation of the soil and affects the nutrient balance. This increase the soil acidity and decrease the biodiversity and this can limit the variety of the crops.

In my opinion, the organic farming is environmentally friendly because it emphasizes on the importance of

• Sustainability
• Biodiversity
• Soil health
• Decrease chemical input
• Promote biological balance
• Support the agricultural long term validity

The farming of organic type is based on the concept of sustainability. The organic farmers don't use the artificial pesticides and fertilizers, instead of these things they use alternative sources of fertilizers which are natural.

How do organic and conventional farming methods impact crop yields? Which method is cost-effective to use?

ORGANIC FARMING

The organic methods of farming produces the less crops as compared to the conventional farming. In this method of farming the farmers focus on the importance of soil health by using natural products. In short term the organic farming not produce large yield.

CONVENTIONAL FARMING

The conventional method of farming depends on the use of synthetic materials to produce higher crops in the short term. The chemicals can promote the growth of crops and protect them from the diseases.
