The faithful Smart
Every morning and evening, Smart would lie quietly on the cool tiled floor, watching the world around the home. Smart is one of the dogs who is loved by almost everyone in my community because he was not a noisy dog, but he had a special way of making everyone feel safe.
Today, as it began rainy, Smart noticed that his owner, who is my landlord, had not returned home from work. Smart stood by the door and waited, patiently listening for familiar footsteps. Several hours passed, but Smart refused to leave his spot.
Finally, after hours of waiting, the sound of the gate opening made Smart's ears perk up. His owner, my landlord, had returned home. Smart jumped up, wagging his tail happily, as if saying, "I knew you would come back for me".
From that day onwards, everyone in the compound understood that Smart was more than just a pet in the compound. He was a loyal friend who showed that sometimes, the quietest hearts can hold the greatest love. Everyone in the compound started taking Smart seriously and being kind to Smart.
