What is Farm Mechanization

I could remember my service year at a place where farming is the occupation. In the place, the people are into mechanised farming using horses, camels, farm machinery, and even chemicals to farm. This system of farming whereby a farmer or someone would use tools like machinery, tractors, bulldozers, harvesters, irrigation, and even drone which are modern farming tool is known as Farm Mechanization.

Farm Mechanization helps farmers to cultivate large hectares of land in the shortest possible time because of the use of farm machinery tools. Also with farm Mechanisation as a farmer you will feel relieved from farm work and your productivity will be higher than someone who does things manually. Although this practice of farm Mechanisation is mostly practiced in developed countries than in underdeveloped countries where it is just a few people that practice it because of how expensive it can be.

What are the Advantages and disadvantages of farm mechanization

Advantages'

• It increases productivity and profitability
• It reduces farm stress as less manpower is needed
• It helps farmers to farm on a large scale of land

Disadvantages

• It is expensive to buy and even maintain machinery
• It causes labour loss (job loss)
• It causes pollution
