My Farming advice Video for Steemit

We have been blessed by God to be alive, a beautiful new week and I'll do something new. First, greetings to Steemit community, to start the week I'll share a very short video advice for you.

I'll share a simple farming advice for the week and this is to anyone starting, thinking of starting or admiring and fantasizing about starting farming. It's a nice work and it's rewarding and without it, there will be serious world hunger. But it is not as simple as getting land and some fertilizer and leaving it for the rain to decide.

This is one good piece of advice for you, especially if you've ever thought of quitting your job to go into farming. You might like the idea because farming is quite rewarding but it is not all about the lovely sunsets, the fresh produce from the farm, and other such good things you get to hear about farming on YouTube or TikTok.

People are misled by videos they see on social media into thinking farming is quite easy. Most farmers will shoot a video or take a picture of progress with the hard work they did before so unconsciously we're seeing it as easy.

Yes, there are fresh veggies, healthy animals, good lands, and happy looking farmers in the videos. There is nothing mentioned in the videos about sleepless nights, failure of plants or the loss incurred after investment in unfavorable weather seasons or when farming becomes your sole means of income and you start to have the pressure to do it well or you will be broke.

A week without rain or outbreak of pests can make you lose months of efforts in growing your plants or caring for your livestock. The market prices could go down unexpectedly and give you serious losses. You could even lose money when you incur huge costs trying to feed animals or nurturing your produce.

If you want to be successful, you should begin from scratch and find out about your target customers. Be consistent with whatever strategy that works for you. Learn about how weather conditions, storage and market price affect what you do. After mastering all these, you can think about expanding. With all the resources at your disposal to do it bigger. If you have all the money in the world, please still start it smaller to get the skills first before you scale up.
