Silkworm conservation time

Hello steemian,
The Silk Plant Board (Tut Bagan) is located in the Mahutpara area of Dinajpur. That is, it is located near the railway station. It is operated under the Bangladesh Silk Development Board. This huge garden is spread over an area of about 118 acres or 47.75 hectares. The main purpose of this is to produce mulberry leaves as food for silkworms. The mulberry leaves produced from this garden are supplied to the silk farmers here, which are essential for the livelihood of silkworms and the production of silk yarn.

This is the main entrance. This road leads to the main building. There is a guard in this building and an agricultural officer lives in the office. Also, a silk specialist comes here every day. Mulberry trees have been planted along the main road and small saplings have been planted on both sides. The road has been widened enough to accommodate various types of trucks or cars. Mulberry garden

Big mulberry trees have been planted in the garden. The branches of the big mulberry trees have been cut and planted in the form of small trees. They are planted in the middle of them. The bigger the tree, the more leaves it has. For this, several lakhs of trees have been planted here. The leaves of these mulberry trees are used as food for silkworms during silk production. These trees are given sufficient amount of fertilizer and they are collected with care. This way the insects can eat the leaves well. It would not be wrong to say that the garden area has been marked by the big trees.

Silkworms and mulberry leaves while making bedding

After collecting the leaves from the tree, they are made into a bed for the insects in a cage. Then the cultivated insects are neatly arranged and kept there to produce yarn. As time goes by, the insects eat the leaves and excrete them. Yarn is gradually produced from that place. This yarn is a non-valuable resource in Bangladesh. After a few days, the cage turns brown.

Condition after drying

After eating all the leaves, the insects become round. Then they are exposed to the sun every day. Then after 25 days, the agronomist observes them, but even then they are not collected. They need a specific time to collect them. When the cages are finished drying, they are collected in a protected area. And they are kept in the air.

The final stage of yarn production

At the last stage, yarn will be extracted from these. Sarees are made in Bangladesh with this yarn. The price of a saree is 660-800$ which is exported from Bangladesh to many countries of the world. With the help of the government, people are earning a lot of money by doing this work in the Dinajpur area.
