Snail are microlivestock , snail farming is also known as helicilture , snail are microlivestock and retractable invertebrates that have hard shells and retractable antenna.

There are different species the round shell, flat cone shape , the shell also can be plain or seriated. Snail are mainly land animals although they are water snails generally belongs to the mollusca groups they are reared in the pens called snail , snail can eat anything such as banana , plantain leaves and fruit like house litter.

Heliciculture, commonly known as snail farming, is the process of raising edible land snails, primarily for human consumption or cosmetic use.

The snail farm must be sited at a place where the soil is rich in humus and other decaying plant and animal materials. The soil should contain sufficient land .

The maturity of snail depends on it's species like garden snail is 6-12 months and African giant snails is 12-24 months, snails can be consumed by frying , cooking ,roasting.

Growth: the environment and temperature and quality food will determine how the snail will grow after hatching from the egg leafy greens and vegetables , fruits.

Harvesting snail are picked cleaned before taking to the market for sales.

Benefit of snail farming

High Demand: Snail meat is a nutritious delicacy with a growing market, potentially bringing good profits.

Snails produces a thick slime which protects and gives them the ability to crawl on sharp object like the edge of a razor and not get hurt.

Nutritious Food:Snail meat is a good source of protein which is rich in iron and calcium, but low in fat and cholesterol compared to other protein sources like poultry, beans.

Low Startup Costs: You don't need a massive investment to get started just a little cost .

Challenges

Climate snails are very sensitive to climate or whether change when it is hot you will likely not to see them it comes out on rainy days .

Market fluctuation: it can fluate mostly when it is out of season and this will affect the farmers profitability.

Predator: this predators means other animals that come to eat them such as bird eagle.
