Story story..

Once upon a time..

In a thick Forest, filled with massive green trees there lived a Peacock whose name was Dammy.

Dammy was known as the colourful bird because he has colourful feathers and guess what he was so proud.

Almost every time, Dammy would be spreading feathers just to admire himself and let other animals watch him. Many liked to watch him while others ragged with anger. As usual you must be liked by everyone says Dammy in his heart each time he feels that some of the animals looked at him some how.

One of the days as Dammy moved around the forest he saw a small sparrow whose name was sheba, he was carrying twigs, Dammy watch him closely to see what he was doing with it and he discovered that Sheba was building a nest.

"Why do you work so hard?" Dammy laughed while he spoke to Sheba.

He continued speaking "I am the most beautiful bird in this forest." I can have anything I want yet I do not work as hard as you do.

Sheba ignored him and just continued to do his work. After a while Dammy walked away.

A few days later, dark clouds gathered, and a heavy storm hit the forest. The wind was so strong that it brought down many strong deep rooted trees in the forest. Even rain was so heavy.

Dammy feathers could not protect him, he tried all he could but his feathers were soaked with water and no hiding place for him.

Sheba the little sparrow was found very safe inside his strong nest he built.

When the heavy wind and storm was over, many animal lost their homes and lives. Dammy was a life but left wounded, even some of his feathers were blown away. He felt so embarrassed

At that moment he realized that beauty alone was not enough.

He decided to visit the little sparrow. When he saw Sheba coming out safe and unharmed from his nest, he said to sheba "I was wrong to make fun of you. Your hard work saved you."

Sheba replied, "Beauty is good, enjoyment is also good, but it is even better to plan and be prepared at all times."

From that day on, Dammy leant his lessons and was no longer proud. Rather he started putting in the hard work needed.

Moral Lesson

• Pride can make us foolish, but humility and hard work bring success.

• Don't down play the place of hard work, one day it will pay.

• Planing and preparation moves us a step ahead.
