I appreciate the organizer @hive-118902 for arranging this informative contest. It encourages us to reflect on the importance of proper fertilization in improving the crop production. Also the protecting of soil health.

In the agricultural system fertilization refers to the process. By which plants are provided with essential nutrients. So that they can grow better and produce good yields. For the healthy growth of plants various types of nutrients are required of which nitrogen. Phosphorus and potassium are considered the most important. When there is a deficiency of these nutrients in the soil. The crops become weak. Their leaves start turning yellow and there is a clear decrease in production. The process of fertilization is carried out to meet this deficiency.

Some nutrients are naturally present in the soil. But due to continuous farming. The fertility of the soil decreases. Farmers use different types of fertilizers to meet the nutritional deficiency of the soil. Fertilizers are of two basic types: organic fertilizers and chemical fertilizers. Organic fertilizers include cow dung. Compost and green manure. While chemical fertilizers include urea DAP and potash. These fertilizers are used according to the needs of the plants.

Fertilization is done in different ways. Sometimes the fertilizer is mixed directly into the soil. While in some cases it is delivered to the crops through water. In modern agricultural systems. Nutrients are also provided through spraying. The nutritional needs of each crop are different. So farmers should choose fertilizers keeping in mind the nature of the land and the crop.

If fertilization is not done in the right amount. The growth of crops can be affected. Similarly the use of excessive fertilizer also proves to be harmful. Because it damages the natural structure of the soil. And increases environmental pollution. Therefore balanced fertilization is very important. So that the fertility of the soil is maintained. According to agricultural experts. It is very important to get a soil test done to get good yields. Soil analysis shows which nutrient is lacking. And in what quantity fertilizer should be used. This method not only improves the crop. But also reduces unnecessary expenses.

In modern times. The importance of fertilization has increased. To meet the growing need for food. If this process is carried out scientifically both agricultural development. And food security can be ensured.
