Explain in detail the term Fallow?

The term fallows refers to agriculturl land that is left without planting crops for a certain period of times. In simples words when a farmers does not grows any crops on a piece of land for one seasons or sometimes evens for a whole year that land is caled fallow land. Farmers intentionaly leave the land empty so that the soil can rests and regain its natural fertility. When crops are growns continuously on the same land the soil loses many importants nutrients that plants need to grows well. Nutrients likes nitrogens phosphorus and potasiums are used by plants durings their growths. If farmers keaps plantings crops again and agains withouts giving the land a break the soils becomes weaks and the crop productions decreases. That is why farmers sometimes stop planting crops and allow the land to recovers naturally. During the fallow periods the soil gets time to rebuild its nutrients. Rainwater natural microorgnisms and organic matter help improved the soil condition. Sometimes farmers also plough the land during this period to control weeds and improved soil structure. In some cases farmers allow animals to graze on the land and their manure helps increase soil fertility. There are also different types of fallows used in agriculture. One common type is bare fallow where the land is left completely empty withouts any plants growing on it. Another types is green fallow where farmers grows specials plants like legumes that improve soil fertilty and then mixed them back into the soil. These practices helps farmers keep the soil healthy for futures crops.

What is the importance of Fallow?

Fallow is very important in agricultures because it helps maintainid the healths and productivty of the soil. One of the biggest benefits of fallows land is that it allows the soil to regain lost nutrients. When the lands rests for some times natural processes help restored soil fertility which improves the growths of futures crops. Another importants benefit of fallow is weed control. When land is left fallow farmers can removed weeds before planting the next crop. This reduces the competitions between crops and weeds for nutrients water and sunlight. As a results crops can grow better and produce higher yields. Fallow also helps in controling pests and plant diseases. When crops are growns continuously on the same land pests and diseases can easily spread and becomes a serious problem. Leaving the land fallows breaks the life cycles of many pests and diseasis which helps protected the next crop.In additions fallow improved the structure and moistures of the soil. Rainwater can easily entered the soils and be stored for futures crops. The soil becomes softer and healthiers which helps plants roots grow deeper and strongered. Good soil structures also prevents soil erosion caused by wind or water. Fallow land also supports naturals soil organisms such as bacteria and earthworms. These smaller living organisms played a very importants role in breaking down organic matter and improving soil fertility. When the land is given times to rest these organisms becomes more active and make the soil more productives.
