What is the importance of storage in Agriculture?
Storage is very important in agriculture for many reasons. First it helps reduce food waste. When crops are stored properly they last longer and do not get spoiled quickly. This saves a lot of food. Second storage helps farmers earn better money. Farmers can keep their crops and sell them later when prices are higher instead of selling immediately at low prices. Third it ensures food availability throughout the year. Some crops are only grown in certain seasons but with storage they can be used even after the season ends. Fourth storage protects crops from pests insects and bad weather.Without proper storage farmers may lose a large part of their harvest. Fifth it helps maintain the quality of food. Good storage keeps the taste color and nutrition of crops safe. This is very important for both farmers and consumers.
