SLC-S31/W6-“Creative Interpretation| The Concept -Becoming”
In my final piece, I am inspired by the concept becoming represents a person standing between light and darkness. In the piece, one side of the figure appears cracked and fading like and age stone that has been in the position where it is for decades, while the other side blooms with glowing wings, and flowers made of light.
There are some broken chain around the character and these chains symbolises freedom from being afraid, having doubt, and previous pain. Everything changed from the background from stormy grey clouds into a bright sunrise, showing everyone the journey from struggle to survive to growth.
What transformation is taking place in your interpretation?
The transformation that is taking place in my interpretation is the change from being insecure to having confidence and purpose in life. The interpretation is all about discovering strength after difficult moments and learning to embrace change instead of fearing change.
The piece of my interpretation is not transformed fully because becoming is something that's continues process and it is not just a one-day thing but something that takes time.
What challenges appear during this process?
Fear of failure is the challenge that appears during this process. Also, the fear of being lonely, criticism, and self-doubt appear also. It is the broken chain that represents the difficult battle of letting go of negative thoughts and limitations.
Growth is indeed painful because it requires stepping into the unknown and leaving behind old habits, that is rejecting happiness at some point.
How does your piece connect to your personal growth or vision?
My piece connects to my personal growth and vision deeply because it reflects the desire for me to become wiser, stronger, and more fulfilled in life.
Also, it connects to my personal growth because my vision in life is to continue growing creatively and personally while I keep inspiring other people not to give up easily on their goals, visions, when they are faced with difficult moments of transformation.
