What is Farm Mechanization

 

Since old ages we know that Earth and soil are the source of our nutrition. That is why in old ages even in stones ages, people noticed that there are some plants that we can eat, people were collecting mushrooms, berries. Slowly we found many healthy stuff that our ground can grow. Slowly potatoes, onion and carrots are the main vegetables that are basic one that people grow to survive. Depending on how much time, efforts people put into their work we know how good harvest will be.

In the past there were no machinery and people used their own man power but also used for example horses for heavy physical work. Slowly since the technology was developing, slowly there were different machinery invented to make the work on fields easier and so that one person farmer would be able to work on large area of the field. That is why using different machines for preparing the soil, enriching it with air, nutrients, planting but more important collecting the harvest witht eh help of machinery is what we call Farm Mechanization.

There are advantages and disadvantages of Farm Mechanization.

Advantages:

• machinery is taken over the heavy physical work, so people do not work too hard and it is good for their health

• time for performing the job, when using all that machines it will be relative quick to finish work rather if the person would do it without machine just with man power

• bigger space of field could be used and financially the farmer will benefit as he will sell more products

Disadvantages:

• again financially they are expensive and in order to get one of those machine, a farmer need to take loan from bank or to do it together with other farmers

• with machines farmer will require less workers, so workers may loose their jobs

• environmental: little animals and birds living on fields could be killed while the machines working on field

• such machines using motor oil and fuel, all of them bad for nature

In every case it needs to weighed pros and cos and decide in individual case, because the progress we can not stop and it is good for human health to make their work lighter.
