Can I say that I am one of the original bloggers of Steemit? Well, it's okay if I claimed that wrong. The start of my journey here in Steemit was when August 2017. I was here that early. But until now, I haven't made any decent reward from my account. That's because I've been blogging on and off.

Now now, let's take that aside. We're here to talk about the things I have seen and witness on the platform. Some of which I think are great features and some things that need to be improved. Please don't take it hard on me. The things I'll include here are my feedback as a user of the platform. As a user, I believe we do have a fair share of responsibility to share what it feels like to use the Steemit platform.

1.) The Logo Change

I was here from before Steemit changes its logo from a flame-like vector to now a clever speech bubble made to look like a letter S. It does make sense, and it's a perfect fit. When you look at it, it sure does leave an impression that it is a social blogging platform. Kudos to that!

2.) User Interface

How Steemit looks today is very different from before. From what I remember, the functions and animation (also its appearance) wasn't as smooth as it appears today. I'd say developers did think about what would be more convenient for the users. One of which is the separation of the blog section and the posts section.

Unlike before, where it was all in the blog section, users can now only see their published posts in the posts section. Whereas in the blog section, resteemed posts by the user are also mixed in.

To me, this is a nice feature since I am someone who likes to have my articles organized in one place. The only cons I have to say to this feature is that you need to manually resteem your posts so they would appear in the blog section. Articles in your blog section are automatically shared within your friends' news feeds. That's a good thing to know but I think it would be better if your posts would automatically appear in your blog section. But we're still fine with doing it manually so I guess, we just have to wait until it gets to that update.

3.) Communities

One of the biggest changes in Steemit was the appearance of communities. How do I say this? Communities are like groups aiming to cultivate user experience to maintain an engaging community. There were so many new communities initiated by other users and if you'll only take time to explore, you might find a perfect fit for you.

The list of trending communities now replaced topics that were classified as to what type of article the post was about. Before there were a bunch of these topics listed, and that it's sorted out to this, it looks just as appropriate.

4.) Notifications

I don't quite remember well if there were notifications even before, but let's just appreciate it for now. Today, notifications have been of great help to know that someone left an engagement to you. Whether it may be a reply, an upvote, or a resteem and the likes, it will notify you whenever.

image.png

There's just a minor glitch I've noticed. Sometimes when you mark everything in your notifications as read, it doesn't always do that. There were times that they remain as new notifications when you refresh your page. But I think this will be fixed in no time.

5.) Wallet and Settings

To access your wallet, you now need to login to a different page using your private active key. I don't have anything to say to it as long as it makes every transaction within the wallet secure. You can also see your private keys in your wallet page.

Now regarding the settings section, you can access it from your profile. But you sad to say, you can access it from your wallet page. If you click on it, it will log you out of your wallet page. I don't know if it's a glitch or what, but it shouldn't be there if you can access it there. Nonetheless, you can access it from your profile page.

6.) TRX tokens

Since the acquisition of Steemit, TRON tokens were included in the reward system. Well, I think others expected that since Justin Sun who acquired Steemit is the founder of TRON. Now you get to acquire two tokens/crypto, tokens from the Steem blockchain (steem and sbd) and TRON or TRX.

Well, I guess I have to end it here. I know that there's still lots I missed, but I would like to know if you guys noticed them too. So much to talk about, but let's discover how everyone experiences these changes throughout the years.

What do you think of these changes? What else do you think is missing and how was your experience with it? Do you have any feature you want which may be added or developed in the coming years? Let's talk about it!
