KNITRIAS PROJECT: Week 11 (Curation)

in Knitrias Project4 years ago (edited)

The 100 days of Steem

We are getting into the eleventh week on the Knitrias Project, and this is a special week because it was also the last of the 100 days of Steem. Some nostalgia is on the air for the participants in the challenges and the Diary Game which made a great success between many users. In these months many projects as the Community Curators, Steem Greeters, Steem Promoters, Community Leaders, Country Curators taken part in the PoD Project launched by the Steemit Team to give support to all authors creating content on the platform.

Soon will come the results and the winners will be announced. The PoD Project will take a new course and structure based on the ideas of recruitment, retention and rewards. The structure of this new program will be presented shortly. The second season of the Diary Game promise lots of fun and emotions. From the Knitrias Project we congratulate all the members of the Steemit Team for their efforts and great work on these 100 days and wish more satisfactions on the times to come.

Curation Strategy

The votes on Steem are different from other social platforms in many ways. While in those platforms the buttons for different reactions are related with information given to the company, on the Steem Blockchain the votes are related with the activity on the economy of the ecosystem. We start talking about the Steem economy on the Report fo the Week 02, but now we will go further on the nature of the vote and the different factors that affect the value.

The first and most important factor is the Steem Power of the voter, right now to produce a vote of $1.00 Steem Token Units it's necessary to possess ~50,000.000 SP. On the other hand any post or comment with less of $0.02 will be converted into dust and won't produce any payout.

The payout can be calculated on the Steem World Simulate SP and Simulate Payout tools:

The second important factor is the Weight of the vote. Every vote can be cast using certain percentage of a vote. On the Steemit platform, the user with more than 500 SP count with a slider to set this percentage. So for example, a 50000 SP account voting at 50% weight will produce ~$0.5 Steem Token Units, and so on. The slider is this:

The third factor affecting the value of the vote is the Voting Power. Each vote a user makes consumes some quantity of Voting Power at a rate of ~2% for each 100% (weight). The vote decreases its value with less voting power.

The voting power regenerates 20% each 24 hrs. That means each user can make ~10 votes at 100% each day (or more if using different weights), making more will result in a drop that will deplete the Voting Power making the votes worthless. On Steem World it looks like this:

Other important factors are the order and time of the vote. Due to the reward curve that is set on the blockchain a vote will have more value if more voters up-vote after, and the value increases its potential if the post reaches or pass the $5.00 Steem Token Units. One post should be up-voted at 5 minutes from its publication to reach the maximum potential curation rewards, voting with less time reduces this potential.

The combination of all of these factors (excluding down-votes which work on the negative sides of the value) result in the value of the vote. As every post is payout 50% for the author and 50% for the curators, the final curation rewards are proportional to the value added to the post, always received by the curators in the form of Steem Power.

Steem World also offers a tool to check the potential curation rewards for the next seven days. It also indicates the Efficiency, which values over 50% represents more potential rewards:

All Members are invited to establish a strategy of voting good content to increase the potential curation rewards, with the practice of commenting on the posts will be developed great curation skills helping to thrive in the Steem Blockchain.

Theme: Exchanges

The Steem economy has another component which is situated on the cryptocurrencie markets. An important part of the price of Steem is determined by the buy and sell of Steem on the Exchanges on which this coin is listed. On the exchanges exist determined trading pairs on which the different tokens on different blockchain projects can be traded for other cryptocurrencies or even for fiat money.

There's exchanges where is only possible to buy cryptocurrencies with fiat, via credit card. But there's also regional exchanges where is possible to buy and sell cryptos obtainig fiat money to deposit on a traditional bank account.

The main Exchanges which have listed Steem are Poloniex.com (partnering along with Steemit.com with the Tron Blockchain), Binance.com, Huobi.com, Bittrex.com and others.

The challenge consist on research, find information on the Steem markets, which are the trading pairs for Steem on the exchanges, how to subscribe to one of these exchanges, which opportunities they offer, which are their fees and main trading pairs. The content has to do with the personal experience and doesn't require technical language but the own expression of the encounter with the information or the use of these exchanges.

The subjects on the Open Source challenge so far are: Markdown, SteemWorld.org, Steem Whitepaper, Steem Witnesses, DLive.tv, Steem Auto, Knitrias Project Roadmap and Discord app.

All Members are invited to visit the showcased materials on each report.

Questions, suggestions and information sharing can be made in the comments section of this post.

The Members are strongly invited to participate in the Discussion initiative by @Cmp2020. Every user commenting on the post will receive a share of the liquid rewards by the account @Penny4thoughts. @Knitrias is sponsoring this initiative on behalf of the Members of the Knitrias Project.

with the practice of commenting on the posts will be developed great curation skills helping to thrive in the Steem Blockchain

Greetings @knitrias.

I really like the way you propose the support in this project, I had thought that it would be good that the challenges are varied every week, but seeing the way this account @knitrias is working, my proposal would be the following:

Given that the @knitrias account publishes once a week, and taking into consideration that there are 10 of us in the project. The @knitrias account could publish daily a publication referring to two members and their respective publication, for five days to complete the 10 members, and that the reward is directed 30% for each member in SteemPower, that is, every day two members will be benefited daily with 30% of what that publication generates where they are considered.

////////

Saludos @knitrias.

Hello @Jadnven! Thank you for the encouragement and for the contribution of these ideas, on which I will try to explain my points and also make a proposal.

As for the variety of challenges, this was addressed by proposing a new activity (Members' Initiatives) totally created by each Member, the challenges or contests are freely created according to the themes that each Member is interested in and by the means provided in their rules, they are open to all Steem users. The initiatives aim to create broader Member interactions with the entire community in Steem.

Branches of Longevity, although in appearance it is a literary challenge, there is an absolute freedom to approach it from any creative sphere. Drawing, design, photography, music, dance, reflection, personal experience, research, cooking recipe, anything related to the given fictional themes and characters. Whoever decides to approach it literarily can take any narrative point, develop any number of branches or individual episodes, change the course of events, focus on a character or create new ones.

Open Source, important topics in the field of platform and blockchain technology and other tools, a new topic is added every week and Members are free to choose any of the previous topics for the creation of their content.

The last two challenges were what shaped this project, they will remain throughout its first phase.

It would be great if the @Knitrias account could publish daily, this could be achieved thanks to the consolidation of a complete and very well established team. All sharing the publication key and the same format for the posts. Therefore, the idea as it is proposed could be given in the second stage of the project in which, if it continues, a management team made up of Permanent Members will have to be in charge of the publications, comments and votes of the account and work with Growing Members.

For now it's just me doing this weekly reporting and day-to-day work commenting on posts, giving advice and indications and also trying to vote on comments. As stated from the beginning, I am doing what is within my capabilities; Making daily posts from @Knitrias is out of my time, dedication, and resources, as every one I also have a work to acomplish here. Personally, it has even been difficult for me to publish on my own account as often as I like.

Another issue to take into account is that the votes for the publications of the account are not in my hands and I cannot guarantee their daily frequency, the support of the PoD project of the Steemit Team consists of the delegation that we now have. The PoD project, as announced, will take a new structure to be defined.

Now, your idea to increase the Steem Power of both @Knitrias and the Members is very good and can be addressed from now on in this way. My proposal to everyone would be that any of the Members can make these curation / presentation posts from their own blogs and dedicate the appropriate percentages of liquid rewards to donate to @Knitrias, the featured authors, and the rest to the author of the post. You mentioned 30% that 10% Steem Power could be distributed for @Knitrias, 20% Steem Power for 2 featured authors and 70% for the creator of the post.

I look forward to the conversation about these ideas that will also be exposed in the following Report.

I also encourage all of my teammates to make a contest or challenge. If you want to get an idea of how it could develop you can take mine as reference. But it might not be as much work as my contest was. I only announced the valid entries, because there were so many invalid entries. What i would do better next time, which might be a good hint for all of you, is to make a title with markdown that expresses clearly that violating the rules will result in an invalid entry for the contest. That makes it clear from the start and saves you alot of work if the participants stick to it.

I hope i could give some insight and pointers for future contests and challenges of my teammates. If you have questions concerning the organizing of a contest and it doesn't violate the guidelines of the initiative by @leveuf and @knitrias, I will gladly assist with answering questions you all might have.

Thanks for your great support, @Rashia, and congratulations on your contest!! Supporting and giving advice between each other is the goal of the working group!!

I also want to invite here to @Muftii and @Angelik-a, who have expressed some desire to participate in this experience!!

Nice information you have provided for us once again @Knitrias! I will revisit SteemAuto and adjust my voting strategy, thank you very much.

Could you please edit the post and mention that @Xpilar also supported the contest with 10 STEEM? I would really appreciate it, also mention yourself, that's just fair :) And if possible I would like to give credit to all of you :)

Oh one more question, is it possible for me to partake in the initiative a second time in the future? (Of course I would give my teammates the chance to make their challenges before making another contest, just curious, because I have another idea, hehehehehe. I also know the perfect judge for it, hehehhehe)

The exchange challenge is too difficult for me, I think I will revisit another subject :P

Maybe I will redo my report of the project, it has been 3 weekly reports since my last post on the knitrias roadmap :D

Hello, @Rashia!! You can take part in another initiative! You can even present your proposal this week. Depending on the order of the proposals will be the order of the initiatives.
Thanks for the reminder about Xpilar!! I'll edit the post. You can add all your partners in your announcement post.
I'm having some internet issues ($payment), but leveuf will be ready to send the judgements as soon as the list of the post is verified by you!!

You can take any of the subjects to develop or start a new series on a new one!!

Send you the best wishes and see you soon on discord!!

Rashia#3909 for discord

Do you mean like an extra challenge of the week for the knitrias project members or the knitrias project community?

As I said to @Jacorv! That's out of the time and budget for now!!

No i meant me making a challenge that is posted in the knitrias project community and is exclusively for the members of the community

There are already three activities exclusive for the Members (counting the Members' Initiatives). And all the Members need to have the opportunity to organize, interact and reward contributions, thus getting more exposure with the large community of Steem.

Let's see how it develops, we have only one week with this program. If there's no more participation, we can implement this idea.

i meant all the members in the community, not the members of the knitrias project. i mean the community that was made

A Member's Initiative could include to post on the Community, others could be for other Communities, or for a tag or any of these. The Challenge by the proponent can be published on the Knitrias Project Community or others, all that will depend on the proposal, the subject and the contest itself. You used some personal tags and rules of publication, that is the idea. Your experience will guide others.

The goal is the participation of the Members planning, organizing and interacting through a project.

On the other hand, @Knitrias funds are primarily for the Members' Steem Power growth. Sponsoring the Members' Initiatives has the intention to invest in the presence, learning and growth of the Members through engaging with the large community of the platform.

 4 years ago (edited)

Both. Members and community. But, @knitrias told me about it. Maybe in the future we can do it. 👍😉

Contexto: Abierto y a decisión propia.

Feliz ViernesPowerUp

Nice contest you have created! It might help to specify if just 1 picture is allowed or multiple

Rigth! Let me say it jeje. Just one picture.

Nice!

Okay, if you need any help, let me know please.

@knitrias: Tengo que decir: ¡Felicitaciones! ¡Felicitaciones ¡Felicitaciones!

@leveuf
