Hello, fellow lovers of the blockchain,

It is with great pleasure and joy that I write to introduce and share my daily activities with you for the 10 days of January in the year 2022. Today happens to be the second day of the week however the first working day of the week for Ghanaians is this week because the last day was a Holiday.

Although it's a holiday, some are us still reported to work and today is the first working day we must still report as well. Because of these reasons and having reported working yesterday, I closed and left the house and went to bed early than normal. As a result, I woke up early enough to be able to carry out my morning duties so that I can get to the workplace early. I did carry out my normal morning routines as usual then went to the bathroom to carry out my bath. I was able to do that within a few minutes can back to the room and dress up for work.

Pulled samples results showing P5 as positive.

I left the house and in about 15 minutes I was at the workplace. I went to register my details for reporting to work, I then went ahead to clean my work benches as usual. I noticed there was a problem with the temperature log sheet, and I,, therefore took my time to address those problems. It took about 30 minutes to be able to complete addressing those issues. After I was done, my supervisor arrives and gave me instructions on our daily activities for the day.

The instructions were very simple, all that we had to do was to clear some backlog of samples we have to be tested for hapitacis C. As of then, we were short of controls and test kits hence we were keeping the samples for future use. As a result, we received those items a few days ago and we have to work to clear that backlog. Checking from my perspective the samples were over 23 and they were good enough to be used for those tests made for them to be used.

I was able to check from the freezer and brought out all the samples that were supposed to run on the table. Because they were many we decided to use the protocols for pulling. This protocol tells you to add some number of samples in some quantities together to help you reduce the number of test kits used. After it shows positive, then you would have to pull the rest of the samples in other to test for their positive nature so that you can record the result.

Un-pulled samples showing ID 05 as positive

The samples that were supposed to be pulled we're been worked on by me while my colleague was working on the controls. Within some short minutes, he was done with the controls he was running. Afterward, the test kits were ready for those pulled samples to be run. I did the running and we came out to find that one of the samples was positive. As a result, we identify the one that was positive to pull 5. This, therefore means we have to pull to be able to get the specific ID that was positive.

The un-pulling was done by bringing all the samples that were in pull five and each of those samples were run individually. It was identified that the participant with ID number 5 was the one who was positive for the test. The results were documented and it was realized that not all the samples have been run. Therefore, we had to look for the rest of the samples to run. Upon the check of time, we noticed that it will take a longer period to be able to carry out the rest of the samples. We decided to carry on with that the next day if everything is fine.

Myself in Labcoat carrying out the work

We had to go for food from the kitchen because there was training ongoing and some of the Laboratory officers have been allowed to go to the kitchen for food. We had to go and wait for a few minutes before the food was given to us. My friend and I took the food and sent it to the laboratory to those who were interested to take their share and to supply to the general public. I took my share and went to the sitting room and ate. I rested for about five minutes and left there to come to the lab to finalize all the documentation. I then left for the house when it was time to go and rest.
