Hello Steemit Family
It's a brand new Monday, November 6, 2022, and as usual, work has been in progress, for about two months of Vaccine shortage, Finally, Vaccines were Received from the National Cold room and were arranged into the walk-in fridge. As usual, vaccines that were received were issued back to the Districts, and am here to bring to you how vaccines are stored and issued at the regional level. Everyone here as far as our health is concerned has one way or another been vaccinated before.

We have about 12 different types of vaccines that we receive in our Cold Room in the Bono Region of Ghana. This includes The polio vaccine, The BCG Vaccine, Penta, Measle Rubella Vaccine, The Rota Vaccine, the IPV, YF, Men A, the RTSS vaccines for malaria piloting, etc. As some of us will know Vaccines are Substances used to stimulate the production of Antibodies and provide immunity to Diseases.
These are Received From the National level on quarterly bases, stored in the Walkin Fridge, and issued to the various districts within the region for immunization Activities

Vaccines are stored at the Temperature of +2 to +8, any temperature exceeding this value causes the destruction of the vaccines, which implies that right from the manufacturer to the recipient vaccines are supposed to be stored under this temperature without exposing it to heat. |The District that came for vaccines happened to be Dormaa west and Berekum municipal. Vaccines always come with their diluent. However, there are certain vaccines that are without diluent. These together form Reconstituted vaccines and non-reconstituted vaccines. Reconstituted vaccines come with their diluent, non reconstituted vaccines have no diluent. it is already reconstituted.

Vaccines are very sensitive to heat, therefore, must be kept with care, due to this districts pick up vaccines in their Cold boxes filled with Ice parks, this keeps them at the rightful temperature until it gets to the recipients, that's the individual that we vaccinate.

Vaccines have been helpful in preventing a lot of childhood infections, for instance, diseases such as whooping cough,
Tb in children, pertussis, and Diarrhoerr in children has all been prevented due to the introduction of vaccines
Thanks for your time. @goodybest @ngoenyi

Beautiful day it was for you. I can see from you daily activities that it was not an easy task. I strongly believe also in the fact that you are helping mother Ghana in all aspects that you can.

I was however wondering why you were not wearing gloves in carrying out such duties. I hope next time you will.

Greetings and thanks for sharing with us.

Am so honored my Friend, thanks so much, At that moment a lot of Districts were in a queue waiting to be served, so it escaped me to wear gloves and also cover all because I wanted to serve them quickly. Some were from far. Next time the first thing I will do is wear a coverall and gloves before stepping into the WALK-IN. Thanks so much for your attention.
