The Entropy of Our Time

Throughout the history of the World, humanity has never seen such an advancement in technology and society. But the stellar growth in technology and society is mixed with so many staggering disparities modern science cannot properly understand.

In Africa and some parts of Latin America, there has been serious talk about a Gentocratical rule where those vested with power have no clue about the desires of the young population. This presents us with an entropy where the young population has the numbers yet, is not part of decision-making due to apathy towards civic engagements. Having the numbers does not lead to the change of the status quo or the involvement of the youth in politics and decision-making. However, getting involved in various ways or forms serves as the only way to be part of the decision-making process.

Another entropy presented to us as a generation is the use of technology to effect changes in our daily lives. Despite the numerous appropriate technologies at the disposal of the youth, there are still challenges to leveraging these appropriate technologies to harness the development and inclusiveness of the youth in politics.

Africa has a population with several appropriate technologies at its disposal capable of changing the bad narrative about the Continent yet, these are not always used to change the rhetorics and spinning of the so-called developed country. Leveraging appropriate technology means using basic tools to solve problems confronting society and catching up with the fast-developed world.

Another entropy we are faced with is high production without growth. Despite the economic fortunes of the World real time growth has slowed down significantly thus, making some sectors such as agriculture and education see near to stagnant growth. Even though the World is seeing massive growth in technologies, this has not added any significant contribution to the growth of production since the industrial revolution.The World found itself within a complex entropy of paradox that needs an urgent solution or may end up consuming us all.
