The State, The History, The Situation, The leadership And The Journey Of Steemit In Ghana So Far
The feeling today is different. Situations can't make a country Rep rest on his laurels if things aren't moving on as expected. As defined, a leader shows the way, goes the way and knows the way. As a country Rep for Ghana, I would like to come to you this very day to brief you on the State of Steemit, situations in Ghana and the journey so far. It wouldn't be such a pleasant one at the end, but we hope it shapes the way forward. Kindly give me that opportunity to share with you.
In this post, I will bring to you concisely the history, the journey, situations, issues and observations of the Ghana steemit. Some may the pleasant, others may be uncalled for. This post isn't intended to belittle anybody's integrity but in general, it is intended to arrest the ills and some undemanded behaviours of leaders, members that has brought the steemit episode in Ghana to this state. Some may be positive, others may be so wrong.
Steem Ghana came to light with steemians like oppongk, Njaywan, Nattybongo and some many others who contributed to the survival of the Ghanaian community. During these times, steemit in Ghana was something better to write home about. This is because they contributed to helping orphanages, charity homes with their steem promo agenda, build community power through power up, adopted engagement, unity and consistency and also helped the needy in their community. The contribution was very massive.
They contributed to make the steem brand very noticeable in the country and across the steemit discourse. Many steemians evolved from Ghana and I can confidently say that, Steem Ghana was the core through which many countries on steemit evolved. Ghana has done alot for steemit and that, we should say a very big thank you.
Steemit had three major divisions in Ghana. This division was a threat but wasn't noticed because those who ere there were enjoying at that time. The North, and the two Souths. The North was controlled by njaywan, middle south that is Kumasi was controlled by nattybongo, and the other South that is Nsuta was controlled by Oppongk. Steemit during these times was tagged with who you know. That philosophy and general conception was a reality. Newbies who knew no one couldn't survive here due to lack of support. These three areas were the strong hold of steemit. Leaders who were then in these areas supported their members massively to the detriment of the others in different places in Ghana.
As time went on, oppongk had an issue which brought his position to a risk. He lost his position. Steemians who were in his parts lost passion. Why? This is because, his own people in the other South (Nsuta) felt no one could support them any longer. This made a whole lot of them power down emanate in this area.
The places of focus now became the North and the middle south. Those who were at the other south who wanted to press on barely received booming support. This brought a who lot of issues. Remember, Oppongk contributed a whole lot to the growth of steemit. Through steem promo, organising of contest and he had more steemians on the steem Ghana platform from the other South (Nsuta). Almost all these steemians left. Activeness declined massively. And his part of steemit died with only a few.
Fast forward, In the middle part of this year, when positions for leadership came back again. Juzkid, Nattybongo and Njaywan applied. Power down made Njaywan lost his position since that act was not in support of the club initiatives which I think so but not really sure anyway. Njaywan was the pillar to the steem Ghana Community account and held all the keys. He decided who to give it to. His people also thought they wouldn't receive support anymore. Njaywan and Nattybongo I personally think we're so close and had their ways. Remember, I earlier said steemit in Ghana was about who you know. Those in the Northern part also lost interest and most of them power down.
There was a new wave that was from the other part of the South who lost interest. Juzkid took leadership there, but since most of the members had power down, coming back to support club initiatives was difficult and no effort could bring them back since the booming couldn't support the power down accounts. Also, the steem Ghana account was owned by the three individuals so operating it was a difficulty by Juzkid. Leadership who controlled had a problem with credibility. Remember members here were not writing again, because they couldn't support with the club initiatives due to their power downs they made when they had no support from the then leadership. Bringing out the keys to the wallet so that Juzkid operates with was a whole lot the ensued. Juzkid organised contests and brought initiatives that could bring back the love again. The North were not writing, the middle South had only a few steemians, other South couldn't support club initiatives. Everything was falling massively.
On the other hand, some accounts at the middle south received the booming support during time of selecting post and that called for a whole lot of quarrel and complains which led to steemians leaving the WhatsApp platform which is another platform to reaching the people. Issues on the platform felt like gibberish for a whole lot of people. The taste was getting bad and nothing could ressurect the love. This made Elliamor1 leave the platform because issues were not congenial and some individuals taught they were pioneers and could do what they wanted. At that time Elliamor1 had power down due to fury on issues he tried to defend the community. Kookd had also started power down and stopped writing due to some similar issues of favouritism. These steemians all evolved from the other South (Nsuta).
Just recently, these owners who had the master keys to the Steem Ghana community account decided a power down. And the old leaders Njaywan Nattybongo, Oppongk shared the steem.
Many steemians had their delegations to the Steem Ghana community account. And this delegations yielded something for the community. Members weren't informed about the power down and those who were still on the platform felt infuriated. This more and many more killed the steemit dream in Ghana. A whole lot of mouth assaults came up. Juzkid Elliamor1, Sarkodieeric1, Kookd, Analem, edmund.nef and others who had massive delegations felt this wasn't right. An account for Ghana can't be powered down. None of the leaders gave an explanation to that and Juzkid had little to say about it.
The Amazing Ghana community account which was created months ago out of self centered leaders of Steem Ghana came back to life to shape the steemit brand in Ghana again. This ideologies was championed by @juzkid @sarkodieeric1 @kookd and @elliamor1. Remember that, most of these steemians had already power down due to situations that were unfavorable by leaders and the quarrels that evolved. But they came back again out of good will to rise the steemit community and the image that was lost. These steemians had great contributions to the Steem Ghana community platform months ago. With collective responsibility, they came back again. We have worked through steem promo to bring back old steemians, but all efforts aren't yielding because members think the support still isn't there. Again, members have lost credibility for leadership due to past histories. The recent contest and outstanding steemian initiative aren't getting funds to reward steemians. What do I write in my report every week as a country rep since activities are passive? This in one way or the other has made activities decline on the platform. All efforts have been put to place to make the platform credible but the power which is steem to support is the issue here.
I would rest here with this for all steemians who have the passion for steemit in Ghana again to revive. As a country rep for Ghana, I am not happy with the state of affairs here. What Rep will I be if I don't have support from members and members do not get support. They have regrets in them. Let us build a community that has helped many others to survive until this day. We shouldn't wait for steemit in Ghana to die. Will we? Let us leave a mark that posterity will be happy about. Let us rise. I kindly crave the indulgence of the Steemit Team to rise and save their steemit in Ghana if they can hear me today. It belongs it us all, so let us reinvigorate it again. The hopes are not all lost.
Thank you for your time.

Kindly hear our plight!!!
We really appreciate your hard work and consistency in the amazing ghana community and steemit community as a whole. I believe in what you are doing though it is not an easy tasks, you have the spirit to revive steemit in Ghana again. And you are never tired of voting and commenting under our post in this whereby most of Ghanaians steemians have stopped posting. I encourage you to keep up the good work Sir.
Let us keep pressing on. Things will work out perfectly
You are a great country representative in Ghana ever. You did not just get an opportunity to display all your skills in growing steemit in Ghana. We wish to get you earlier but is unfortunate. You are doing all what you can to keep the members in steem Ghana but just that your employers are not helping you at all. There is no way your members will be willing to write everyday without getting any votes from the curators. No booming support nothing so my question is how can people be writing without getting anything in return. It just like the curators are not willing to support Ghanaians again and that is the main reason why the steemians in Ghana are not writing again. You as a country rep will not even be happy when your members are not getting any assistance. We those who know how good you are and how you are working to bring steemians together cannot blame you for what is going on but we rather blame your employers who employ you but are not willing to assist you to keep your members.
Thank you for your comments. We must rise and we hope to get there
We all appreciate your works as a country representative. You have tried so much to bring a good name to steemit in Ghana but you alone can not do without help from the authorities. We wish you was the rep at two years back in Steem Ghana. Things wouldn't have been like this. The curators were very supportive then unlike today. You have really tried as a rep and we all appreciate your work. It is not easy to be country representative where your members are not getting any vote or help from anywhere.
Steem Ghana has absolutely helped a lot and the brand has been curated and branded already. Steem Ghana is now known by most Ghanians just that they are feeling relactant to share because of what has happened.
We will continue to put in great effort in other to support and rebuild our community on the steem Blockchain. Better days ahead for us all.
Thank you for visiting. Steem on
It is a pleasure
Well said my dear.....the steemit community is indeed helping a lot of people. So sad most people are loosing interest nowadays. It is my dream that steemit will regain it stands as it was years ago when Ghanaian steemians were actively posting, voting and commenting. We'll all do our best to awaken the enthusiasm of participating in the community in Ghanaians once again. Let's hope and pray that we succeed🙏🏾😊❤️
We must rise
Your a true country representative.
Your working all day to keep your members with the help of @elliamor1 but the curators are not making things easy for you. It will be very sad and a big lost to steem Ghana if we lost this two great steemians. Am praying that the curators will come to your aid as a rep.
We hope they come
Nice writeup sir J

Thank you for the good works you are doing for steemians in Ghana. You did a lot but just that the authorities are not helping the members to continue to be active.
