🩺🩺IMPROVING HEALTHCARE DELIVERY IN GHANA🇬🇭🩺

Health, as defined by the World Health Organization, is a complete state of physical, mental and social well-being of every individual and not merely the absence of disease and infirmity. It is very important to stay healthy always but sometimes nature finds it way of applying it principle to the body. At least once in our lifetime, we've all been sick before and I know you hate that moment as much as I do. During that period of sickness, most of us, am sure, sort for help from people (healthcare workers) who are trained specifically to take care of us in those moments of infirmity. Now, the kind of care given to you, how it was given, who gave that care and the means through which the care was given all makes up what we call "the healthcare delivery system".

My main focus here, is to not just explain to you what healthcare delivery is but to help us know the quality standard of healthcare delivery and if, Ghana's healthcare delivery system doesn't measure up to it, what we can do to curtail that. Before we can classify a healthcare delivery system as quality, it has to meet certain criteria. These include accessibility, affordability, authenticity and among others. It may be true that healthcare delivery is accessible by majority of Ghanaians but there is that few people out there who really needs to be cared for but they ain't getting that privilege. Mind you, accessibility is not just about helping many to reach it. For something to be accessible, all must be able to enjoy that package as long as they're citizens. Also, I think citizens of our dear country has to be given quality care at a cost that they can afford.

With that being said, I think the means through which healthcare delivery can be improved has been group into three main categories and this include;

A. Improvement in how healthcare workers deliver healthcare and the response of citizens to healthcare.
B. Improvement in the care being delivered.
C. Acquisition of enough tools, equipments and infrastructures needed in delivering quality healthcare.

First of all Ghanaian health workers has to take up the responsibility and make up their mind to improve the delivery system. Applying all the needed qualities on the field of work I think, it's all it takes to improve it's delivery. Moreover, citizens of this nation has to also embrace the care delivered to them and cope with the healthcare workers whenever the need be. Aside that, the kind of care given is also a key to improving our healthcare delivery system. Providing accurate diagnosis, treatments and education to patient is all we have to think of. Our tools, equipment and infrastructures for providing care are not enough to provide quality healthcare as compared to other countries. Leaders of the country has to ensure that most of these tools are purchased and enough infrastructures are been built so as to deliver a quality healthcare to the people.

We can do better than this, we can do more than we think. But before we can achieve this objective, each and every one has a role to play. Workers are expected to do a great job whiles leaders and citizens of this country are also expected to fulfill their responsibility. It's for our own good. When our healthcare delivery system improves, many lives will be saved.
