THE DIARY GAME: FRIDAY JANUARY 20, 2023 (HOME ROUTINES, LAB WORK, AND ATTENDING A FUNERAL)

in AMAZING GHANAlast year (edited)

Hello fellow steemians,

INTRODUCTION

I am always filled with excitement anytime I am sharing my activities with my friends. It is always a feeling of stress release, sharing my stressful moments and getting motivational comments back, for they keeping me moving and always serve as a source of encouragement for me, @edmund.nef always tell me “Hard work pays”.

HOME ROUTINES

As always and usual, due to the previous day’s stress, I couldn’t wake up by own strength but by my alarm clock through the grace of the Almighty God. My alarm clock ⏰ woke me up at exactly 6:00am for which I rose up and said my morning prayers and went out and brushed my teeth, after which I went out and fed my animals. Feeding my animals is a whole lot of long process, I have to fetch the rice chaff, add flour, salt, and mix everything with water and serve them in their bowls; each for a bowl.
When I was done feeding my animals, I then went inside and ironed my clothes, after which I went and took my bath and breakfast sequentially. I finally left home for work when it was around 7:46am.

WORK PLACE ROUTINE

I got to work place at exactly 8:06am, went into the register room and signed in even though I was three minutes late. When I was done signing in, I went to the room where the keys are normally kept for my office key including the key to where the autoclave machine is kept. I opened the autoclave room so that my could autoclave some waste from the previous day’s work.

After I opened and enter my office, the first thing I did was to disinfect the work benches and surfaces including the machines. Due to a project that was on going in another unit, I was assigned there to assist a colleague in the processing of samples for storage and shipment.

In the course of entering the information into documents, we run out of shortage of the papers so the boss of the that unit sent me on an errand to make some copies of the sheets so that the work could continue, which I did.

We ended the work around 2:47pm, because the participants were not many so went for break and had my lunch of one of my favorite meals popularly known in Ghana as “G)b3”, with yam to make it heavy enough in my stomach.

I came from the break and went to the rest room and had some rest, so the food could probably undergo digestion. I rested from around 3pm to 4pm and because there was no work for the day, I took permission from my boss to attend a funeral, which our brass band was rented to perform.

THE FUNERAL DIARY

I left from work and met my colleague brass band members and the deceased family members at the mortuary for which the body (corpse) was removed. As part of the norms of that particular family, they don’t carry corpse in a car, rather, the choose to carry the coffin ⚰️ on their head from the mortuary to the house. Whiles they were carrying the corpse on their head, we were giving the good danceable mourning songs from our instruments which they danced happily. The music and dance was taking place because they believed the dead person has enjoyed enough during his lifetime and so deserved to be celebrated in such a manner, usually know as “Celebration of Life”.

When the body arrived at the family house, there were some other traditional music and dance ongoing so we halted for them to perform before we proceeded with our part.

As a norm, we were provided with food and drinks to gain energy in order to play more for them. We ended the Friday part of the the funeral so that we continue on the following day, so the gave us a place in the funeral house where we kept our instruments 🥁 🎺 and we left for our various homes. When I got home, I was very exhausted so the first thing I did was to take my bath after which I said my night prayers and then went to bed.
This brought my Friday’s activities to an end

Thank you all for ready through🙏🏽
Happy weekends to all of us🙏🏽
