THE DIARY GAME: SUNDAY, JANUARY 29, 2023 (ATTENDING CHURCH SERVICE AND LAB WORK)

in AMAZING GHANAlast year

Greetings fellow Steemians,

I guess everyone here is doing well and I hope the weekend was in everyone’s favour? Blessed be to God for all the Favours.

Today happens to a Sunday, specifically the last Sunday of the month of January, all thanks and gratitude must be given to the God Almighty. I woke up at 6:47AM, praise God for the new day and went and brushed my teeth, after which to backyard garden and watered our vegetables and some plants. I also fed my animals after watering the garden. When I was done with those activities, I went inside and ironed my church clothes and also polished my shoes as preparation for church service, which was to start at 9:00AM prompt. When it was around 8:20AM, I went took my bath and dressed up so that I could get to church as early possible in order to get all the readings and preachings. I left home at 8:36AM and got to church at 8:51AM, some minutes before service which began at exactly 9:03AM. The population of the church was somehow encouraging and the sermon of the Priest was so interesting and motivational, I actually learnt a lot from it today. Everything went well as normal and the mass ended at 12:17PM.

After the service, my friends and I went to the common market and bought some water and millet cake, locally known as “Maasa” as something to sustain us since we did not all take breakfast before we went there.

The next thing we did after the refreshment was to depart to our various homes to have lunch and rest since the sun was scotching but unfortunately on my side, I was called to come to work for had some activities there, this prevented from having both my lunch and rest instead I just changed me dress and left for work but have gone there with empty stomach so I bought some locally prepared dish (a mixture of bambara beans and jollof rice)from the road which I ate before I commenced my work.

The food is actually a water-requiring food, I took a lot of water after I ate it.

ACTIVITIES AT WORK

After taking my lunch, I went into the lab and did some dusting and disinfection, especially the work benches and the machines which were to be used. I also dried some media in the incubator whiles I proceeded to prepare some media.

I measured the powdered samples into the media bottles containing some specific volume of distilled water, I made sure everything was well dissolved by putting the bottles containing the media on a magnetic stirrer for some few minutes.

When they were well mixed and dissolved, I then
removed them from the stirrer into an autoclave. The purpose for autoclaving is to ensure that the media is well cooked and sterilized as well because the machine works with a very high temperature, about 121 degrees Celsius and at a very high pressure. The time I set for the media to be completely autoclaved was an hour and thirty minutes, which it was okay with that time. I then removed the media from the autoclave after I ensured that the pressure was at 0Ibn. I kept the media on a disinfected work bench and room temperature to ensure that the media cools a little so that we could put it them in a water bath which was set to a particular temperature. The purpose of the water bath was to ensure that the temperature of the media was in thermal equilibrium with that of the water bath, which is a little cool.

After we had finished cooling the media we then set our materials ready and the media of about 15ml was poured into Petri dishes and allowed to solidify, after which we labeled them and packed them and stored in a fridge.

My lab activities came to an end I stored the media in a the fridge.
I left the lab around 7:20PM and I was so hungry so I decided to buy some food home in order not to starve myself.

You have been doing amazing in terms of sharing quality content. Your days are always fully packed with amazing deeds.

It is good that service began almost on the time you have agreed on to start and i am happy about the fact that you learnt a lot from church . The most important thing is to put what you have learnt into practice for a better future .

It also seems there was a lot of empty chairs infront of you however you said the attendance was encouraging and that is good. I have no doubt you enjoyed the mixture of bambara beans and jollof rice. I hope you will invite me to have a bit of it next time.

Thanks for sharing and keep on sharing for a better future .

Thanks for that brother
The front chairs are normally preserved for people or families who are there to give thanks for one reason or another, especially funerals or weddings

The pic was taken after the church service as well

Oooh okay. Thanks for letting me know if not, I would have come to you church and be seating on one of those seats.
