Not only does each character have their lines of dialogue and their alternative sequences depending on each decision, but you have to end up fitting those three stories into the overall theme that 'Detroit' tells.

All this is well resolved. because after each scene the developers have decided to let us see the decision tree, with all the options we have chosen and also the ones we have overlooked. As you would expect from a game that is so heavily narrative-driven, Detroit's story is both its strongest asset and the source of its most constant problems.

The concept of artificial intelligence gaining consciousness and questioning its place in the universe is nothing new; in fact, it arguably had its best interpretations in the likes of Blade Runner, but Quantic Dream manages to bring something relatively new to the table, mainly due to its unwavering mission to include taboo topics that are rarely addressed in the medium.

Some are handled better than others, and it's this inconsistency that makes Detroit such an inconsistent experience. The domestic abuse and drug addiction of Kara's story, a winning theme and the studio received a fair amount of criticism in the run-up to its release
