The Hive Hype: What does it mean to the FOODIE community?

It's exciting times these days. In terms of the blockchain, where do you start? We are less than 24hrs away from the Hive fork and counting down. What does that mean for the FOODIE community?

Whether you've been following the drama around the Tron takeover acquisition attempt on Steem or not the growth of Steem is now in question. There does not seem to be an amicable way to resolve the situation. Hence the HIVE is here. We built the community upon Steem, created an SCT token, and a Steem Community. BUT Steem is not the community, is it.

We fully support the move to HIVE, as do many witnesses and community members. To read more details about the HIVE you can read about it here

Like many, we believe the HIVE will have so much more potential than Steem ever had. Developers, witnesses and exchanges are all supporting the implementation.

What are the Plans?

Good question. Our intent is to fully support the move to the HIVE. However, the token that we currently utilize is a SCOT token that sits on the Steem-engine side chain. That side chain currently sits on Steem. Not a big deal, really. It does mean we need to wait until Steem-Engine provides a HIVE peg.

Here is what we plan to do...

1. Foodiesunite.net will continue to operate as-is with the FOODIE token running on Steem-Engine. You will continue to be upvoted and receive FOODIE. We will curate directly through the site. You can post through Foodiesunite.net and receive upvotes on that content. For now, that content will post to the Steem Blockchain. Once Steem-Engine has the HIVE peg we intend to move the site.
2. The Steem Community site will now be the HIVE Community Site located here:
   https://hive.blog/trending/hive-120586 - use #foodie and #hive-120586 or #foodiesunite tags.

So keep posting(use Foodiesunite.net), we'll keep voting and supporting the community. There will be some transition pain, we are sure but in the long run, the HIVE will be a progressive blockchain that will usher in the next generation of the social blockchain. We are pretty excited about the HIVE and these are our initial plans, given the information that we have at hand now.

As more information becomes available and our plans solidify and we will inform the community. So, continue to post, keep collecting that FOODIE and stay healthy.
