I'm curious about the process for painting iridescence. Is it a matter of smudging rows of different colors together? It looks a lot like the iridescent makeup looks I’ve seen on video—there is something so fascinating about watching those deep blues and purples blend into one another.
Yes, I think you can compare it to applying make-up. You apply a little here and there and then carefully blend the colours together so there are no harsh lines. I don't use make-up myself, so I can't tell you how it works, but it's definitely similar, so if you do use it, I'm sure you're very good at it. The only difference is that with pastel chalk you have to rub very hard, but that also depends on the type of paper you use. A sponge or cotton buds over a piece of paper can also help to spread it more easily, and of course the number of layers you use.
I never know how to blend with my makeup. I always skipped the eye shadows but now I'm learning to blend through both painting videos and makeup tutorial. At least I'm 'painting' now.

That's what I've been thinking. Who knows I paint faces in the future.
I like the one you shared!
Good to know that you like that 🤣🤣🤣
