Digital Art | Pollegh, A Goblin to be feared 🗡

Good evening, my dear #Steemit readers. Happy Thursday to everyone reading this today. Once again, your friend Manuel here is super happy to bring you a new artistic post. This time, I bring you a work in which I wanted to create a goblin warrior whom I named Pollegh, a fierce fighter skilled in short- and medium-range combat. Her most characteristic and distinctive feature is that she always carries two large knives with her, which have blades capable of cutting huge rocks in half. From a very young age, Pollegh has participated in countless battles, emerging victorious from all of them... I hope you like this idea, and here I will show you a little bit of the process:

Muy buenas noches mis queridos lectores de #Steemit, feliz jueves para todos los que por aquí se encuentran leyéndome el día de hoy, por aquí los saluda una vez mas su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder traerles un nuevo post artístico. Esta ocasion les traigo una obra en la cual quise crear a una guerrera goblin a la cual llamé por el nombre de (Pollegh), una aguerrida luchadora experta en el combate de corto y medio alcance, su rasgo mas característico y distintivo es que siempre lleva consigo 2 grandes cuchillos, los cuales tienen un filo capaz de cortar enormes rocas a la mitad; desde muy joven (Pollegh) ha participado en incontable cantidad de batalla, saliendo victoriosa de todas ellas…espero les guste esta idea y aquí les mostrare un poco del proceso:

I started by creating a sketch of the character (Pollegh) and giving her some basic structure. In this case, I wanted the goblin girl to have a fairly stylized and youthful appearance, around 20 years old. I wanted to add features to her face, such as some scars on her face and neck, as well as a slightly serious and moody expression. Once I had finished the sketch, I moved on to the next step, coloring. In this case, since it was a goblin character, I decided to use a greenish color palette. I laid down the base with watercolor and worked on the shadows, highlights, and volume of the skin with an airbrush to achieve a fairly smooth texture.

Empecé creando un boceto del personaje de (Pollegh) y dándole un poco de estructura básica, en este caso quise que la chica goblin tuviese una apariencia bastante estilizada y joven, como de unos 20 años de edad aproximadamente, quise agregar características a su rostro como algunas cicatrices en su rostro y cuello, así como una expresión un poco seria y malhumorada. Una vez había culminado con el boceto me pase al siguiente paso, el coloreado, en este caso al tratarse de un personaje goblin decidí usar una paleta de colores verdosa, plasme la base con la acuarela y trabaje las sombras, luces y el volumen de la piel con aerógrafo para lograr una textura bastante suave.

For wounds and scars, try using contrasting shades to give them a realistic appearance. In this case, use medium orange shades to better match the green tones and give the impression of old scars. For the eyes, use a light green base, then use saturated orange tones and a little red to create a fixed, serious gaze. In this case, I use my small brushes to detail the iris, pupils, and, of course, to achieve the glare at the edges of the eyes. For the mouth, I used yellowish-green tones and tried to complement the expression of the mouth with that of the eyes.

En el caso de las heridas y cicatrices trate de usar tonos contrastantes para darle una apariencia bastante realista, en este caso use tonos medio naranjas para que combinara mejor con los tonos verdes, y que además diera la impresión de ser cicatrices ya antiguas. Para el trabajo de los ojos use una base verdosa clara, luego con tonos naranjas saturados y un poco de rojo cree una mirada fija y bastante seria, en este caso me ayuda de mis pincele pequeños para detallar muy bien el iris, las pupilas, y por supuesto para lograr los brillos en los bordes de los ojos; en el caso de la boca use tonos verdes amarillentos y de igual forma trate de complementar la expresión de esta con la de los ojos.

For the hair, use opaque yellow tones. My idea was to create short hair styled in a bookish way to the sides, with fairly defined strands and split ends. For the clothing, use brown tones to create a somewhat rudimentary and rough outfit. In this part, add some folds to the clothing, as well as irregular or torn edges. For the large knives on his back, I used slightly lighter brown and yellow tones to create a texture and appearance similar to metal. In this case, I only used stiff-tipped brushes, such as my square brush and my watercolor brush, to detail the shine of the metal.

Para el trabajo del pelo use tonos amarillos opacos, mi idea era crea una cabellera corta con estilo librito hacia los lados, con mechones de cabello bastante demarcados y con las puntas abiertas. Para el trabajo de la ropa use tonos marrones para crear un atuendo un poco rudimentario y tosco, en esta parte agregue algunos pliegues a la ropa, así como bordes irregulares o rasgados. En el caso de los grandes cuchillos en su espalda use tonos marrones y amarillos un poco mas claros para crear una textura y apariencia como la del metal, en este caso use solo pinceles de punta rígida como mi pincel cuadrado y también mi pincel de acuarela para detallar los brillos del metal.
