Torlannah, the Spirit of Longing

Heyyyyyyy, Good morning, my dear readers from the #Steemit community! Happy Wednesday and happy midweek, everyone! I hope you are all doing great. Your friend Manuel here is super happy to bring you a new artistic post for my blog. This time I bring you a work that I was working on full-time until last night. This time I wanted to revisit the theme of magic a little, but also mystical characters, which is why I decided to create this character, whom I wanted to call (Torlannah), a slightly dark mystical entity that has lived for hundreds of years in a place known as Red Peak, a place that is difficult to access since it is located right at the top of a huge and dangerous mountain. (Torlannah) is a creature with magical powers, and legend has it that she is capable of granting the greatest desire to those who are worthy, but to do so, they must first overcome a series of trials on their way to the top of the mountain. Once they have passed all these trials, Torlannah will appear before them and ask them one last question. If they are truly worthy, they will answer correctly, but if not, Torlannah will take their souls forever as punishment.

Heyyyyyyy, Muy buenos días mis queridos lectores de la comunidad de #Steemit, feliz miercoles y feliz mitad de semana gente, espero que se encuentren super bien, por aquí los saluda una vez más su amigo Manuel super feliz de poder traerles un nuevo post artístico para mi blog. Esta vez les traigo una obra en la cual estuve trabajando a full hasta la noche de anoche, esta vez quise retomar un poco la temática de la magia, pero también de los personajes místicos, y fue por ello que decidí crear a este personaje a la cual quise llamar por el nombre de (Torlannah), una entidad mística un poco oscura que habita desde hace cientos de años en un lugar conocido como el pico rojo, un lugar difícil de acceder puesto que se encuentra justo en la cima de una enorme y peligrosa montaña; (Torlannah) es una criatura con poderes mágicos, y cuenta la leyenda que es capaz de conceder el más grande anhelo a aquellas personas dignas, pero para ello deben superar primero una serie de pruebas en su camino hacia la cima de la montaña, y una vez superadas todas esa pruebas (Torlannah) se presentara ante ellos y les hará una ultima pregunta, si realmente son dignos la responderán correctamente, pero si no es así (Torlannah) tomara para siempre sus almas como castigo:

PROCESS / PROCESO

The first thing I did was start working on my sketch a little. in this case, I wanted to represent (Torlannah) with a fairly humanized appearance, even though she is a spirit or mystical entity. I gave her a slightly thin build, drew her with long hair and large horns coming out of the top of her head, with slightly long elf-like ears, as well as details of earrings and rings embedded in her skin. Once I had managed to capture Torlannah as I had her in my head, I continued with the coloring process. In this case, I took a few purple tones from my color palette and began to work on the base of the skin. At this stage, I like to use only these two brushes to give it the basic shape with shadows and highlights, and then use a stiffer brush to create the shadows and volume. In the case of the horns on her head, I used slightly more gray/white tones for contrast.

Lo primero que hice fue empezar a trabajar un poco en mi boceto, en este caso quise representar a (Torlannah) con una apariencia bastante humanizada a pesar de que se trataría de una espíritu o entidad mística, en este caso le di una contextura un poco delgada, la dibujo con una cabellera larga con grandes cuernos saliendo justo en la parte superior, con orejas un poco largas como de elfa, así como detalles de aros y anillos incrustados en su piel. Una vez había logrado plasmas a (Torlannah) como la tenia en mi cabeza proseguí con el proceso de coloreado, en este caso tome unos cuantos tonos morados de mi paleta de colores y comencé a trabajar la base de la piel, en esta etapa me gusta usar solo estos 2 pinceles para irle dando la forma básica con sombras y luces, y luego con un pincel mas rígido crear las sombras y volumen; en el caso de los cuernos sobre su cabeza use tonos un poco más grises/blancos para contrastar.

In the second stage, I focused on creating the eyes, mouth, and other details of Torlannah's face. For the eyes, I used light purples as a base, then green tones to shape the iris, pupil, and other internal details. For the lips, I used more purple and red tones, trying to complement her face with a slightly more serious expression. Next, I used dark purple tones to create some marks or tattoos on her cheeks, under her lip, and other areas. I used very dark tones to create a kind of shading effect in her eye sockets to give this character a more sinister appearance.

En la 2da etapa me concentre en crear los ojos, la boca y demás detalles del rostro de (Torlannah), en el caso de los ojos use morados claros como base, y luego tonos verdes para trabajar los ojos dándole forma al iris, pupila y demás detalles internos; luego para lo labios use tonos mas moradas y rojos tratando de complementar su rostro con una expresión un poco mas seria. Luego con tonos morados oscuros cree algunas marcas o tatuajes en la zona de las mejillas, debajo del labio y otras zonas, y con tonos bien oscuros cree una especie de efecto de sombreado en las cuencas de los ojos para darle una apariencia mas tétrica a este personaje.

For the hair, I used orange tones because I thought they would contrast well with the tones I had used before, and then I realized that they matched this character perfectly. I used the watercolor brush and my bristle brush to gradually build up quite voluminous hair with a lot of texture. Then, for the clothing, I used shades between purple and pink to create a kind of long dress with texture and an antique look. In the case of the dress, I didn't focus on giving it many folds, but rather sought a soft texture. Another thing I decided to add as a complement to my character's (Torlannah) clothing were some rings or hoops in various areas of her body, such as under her nose and on her collarbones. For this, I used gray tones as a base, then used my flat brush to work on the volume and shape of the rings, as well as adding white highlights.

Para el trabajo del cabello usé tonos naranjas ya que me parecieron que contrastarían bien con los tonos que había usado antes, y después me di cuenta que combinaban a la perfección con este personaje, use el pincel de acuarela y mi pince de cerdas para poco a poco ir construyendo una cabellera bastante voluminosa y con bastante relieve. Luego con respecto a la ropa use tonos entre el morado y el rosado para crea una especie de largo vestido con textura y apariencia antigua, en el caso del vestido no me centre en darle muchos pliegues, sino que mas bien buscaba una textura suave; otra cosa que decidí agregar como complemento a la vestimenta de mi personaje de (Torlannah) fueron algunos anillos o argollas en varias zona de su cuerpo como debajo de la nariz y en las clavículas, para esto use tonos grises como base, luego con mi pincel plano trabajar el volumen y la forma de los anillos, así como brillos con color blanco.
