With only one life to live, the majority of my adult years have been spent unlearning how I was expected to live and connect in society. And with a weak, often non-existent feedback mechanism besides my own good physical and mental health, I’ve felt a bit crazy at times rejecting the status quo.
I am glad that I have got over that mountain of insecurity. I know what is right living—not the specific stuff tuned to each individual, but in the broader sense. All mature humans need to nurture loving relationships for their own good. And it seems like society as a whole rejects that notion—keeps love at the quaint level, and rewards the easy stupid stuff like careers and wealth accumulation.
I wake up with the notion that everyone must be fed now or all food factories be targeted for arson. Love is the profit, the wealth. Portfolios don’t protect me on a stormy night. Piles of money aren’t going to weep over my grave.

It is struggle to find and stick to oneself, to discover there's a better life without the shameful lies we alhave been told and taken for truth.
I totally agree with you.
Unfortunately, love iis what most lack, and forget how to love others, how to connect.
The world suffers underneath all the "you have to" and rules and laws pile up and do not take the loneliness and lack of humanity and empathy out of the hearts and lives of the average person.
