Today I planned to keep myself busy with something I’d already created three versions of. At the time, I wasn’t very happy with the initial result, although I did find certain parts interesting. The camera’s eye clearly sees things differently from my own. The day before yesterday I did see something in it, and yesterday and today it was just the same – and fortunately also the same and… more.

For this piece, I used the triangular canvas. It had been pre-treated with gesso, and I then painted it with titanium white. Unfortunately, I don’t have any more of them (one was ruined, so I just painted over it with blue while waiting for what’s to come).

So for now, it’s just these two. If you look closely, you’ll see that one is a ‘mirrored’ version of the other, or in other words… a print.

What emerges from a few blobs of paint on a canvas with another canvas laid on top (rubbing and pressing is the next step) is the end result.

As the result was disappointing, I moved on to bamboo paper, which unfortunately tore along the edges again due to the masking tape. It’s now clear that this paper really can’t tolerate any masking tape at all.
Incidentally, I used leftover diluted paint and later added paint straight from the tube (directly from the tube onto the canvas).
Actually, the colours are a bit too much for me.

Another thing to watch out for is not to put too much paint near the edges, because as soon as you place the other canvas on top, the paint will seep out between the edges.
To mix the paint, it’s best to layer it on top of each other rather than side by side on the canvas – for example, a dollop of red with white paint on top.

As for the paint: I found I often used too much, as the bottles were difficult to control.

As for the paintings on paper, I’ll decide whether to keep them or crop them.

I've seen a very attractive abstract painting. I like your constant experimentation.

I guess if there is only a bit of time, paint to "waste" or left no one knows how to use it is good to try something not close to heart? 😉

I am not sure if this experiment will continue unless I can influence the end result more.

❤️🍀

These textures look really unique. I'm amazed at how both pieces can be perfectly mirrored like that. I've seen many artists create abstract paintings, but I've never actually made one myself. Anyway, I'll definitely give it a try sometime.

I am looking forward to see your experiment. Who knows you can also do it with your calligraphy workshop?

What I think is that I like your paintings.
