This time I didn't take many photos I simply didn't feel to it. The result is not like expected but this was (not that I checked) the fastest painting I made with soft pastels, the crayons not pan pastels or pencils.

I made a basic sketch with soft pastel (brown) and next painted all dark parts followed by the light ones and the middle tones. I like this way of working so I try to stick to it.

Since I still work with normal paper not meant to hold many layers I had to use the kneading eraser to dip off the crumbs since the more colours I used the more I "wiped off" the first layer which was black. I can't say the kneading eraser did a great job but it's better than blowing (dust = allergies plus colours everywhere ruining the painting).

Another problem I couldn't solve was that white doesn't show on top of the layers. It's hard to shout (leave thicker layers). I tried the softer white crayon (brand unknown) but it refuses to stick on top of Rembrandt. The Rembrandt white did a better job but cannot be used to erase mistakes like the teacher told me to. So the question is what type of white I need to solve my problem?

Since I read the cheapest soft pastels can do the job, most likely they are softer, I ordered 6 sticks at AliExpress. Let's hope they work. Another solution might be the fixative spray (still waiting for it to be delivered).

I used the hairspray to protect the drawing a bit since it was already damaged as I removed the tape and lifted it. I placed a piece of baking paper on top to protect it (or in a attempt to do so).

Due to the weather I decided to cancel the painting lessons tomorrow. As I intended to do so the teacher announced we all should stay home. It will be code orange again. No public transport and a mess on the road due to snow storms. I'll see what I will paint tomorrow, something non existing or ...

P.s. In 2025 I said I would make a drawing everyday but it's hard to stick to it. Well, my new paper is ready.
