My regular coloured pencils always suck. For some reason there's no colour in it and I have a double wooden box... or let's say I found one in my son's room.. never used. Perhaps I need different paper. I don't like colouring by the way. I never liked it, the thing between the lines. LOL
Sometimes, no matter how bad the colored pencils are, we can still get the most out of them, and I have experience with that, since my pencils are just regular ones. I didn't used to like drawing, but over time, as I learned, it became easy and something I enjoy. Everyone has different ways of drawing; I understand that you don't like coloring.
At times I make the tips a but wet which can help as well.
This is an interesting drawing method, although I've never tried it. I only draw with colored pencils, but it's good to learn interesting things about other ways of drawing with other materials.
