RE: Doomed world

It doesn't look promising. It seems as if the male figure is falling apart. Soon, all that will remain are the handcuffs around his wrists and perhaps his hands. A good example of our Dutch expression: my hands are tied. In other words: I can't do anything, I can't lend a hand to help. At the same time, I can't get the idea out of my head that those pieces will soon form a new person. Nevertheless, he doesn't seem to be truly bound.

Survival is a difficult task, and it doesn't matter whether time seems to stand still or passes very quickly. It is being stuck in a cycle of fatigue and exhaustion.

Perhaps this black-and-white figure will one day appear in colour, but I think he's fantastic just the way he is. He fits in well with the times we live in. Winter, chewing, abandoned, without clothes. Once seen as interesting and dangerous, shackled like a terrorist and now left to his fate. Perhaps this is the moment to take the liberty and escape.

You always leave a wonderful impression. You inspire me to keep creating.

When I painted, I hadn't considered so much symbolism.

But it's a reality, well-articulated.

Even surviving is complex.
I wonder what rich people do in their daily lives. It must be difficult for them to find entertainment.
