That woman in the first painting reminds me of the videos I see on WeChat. In those, all sorts of different bits and pieces and types of bait are used to catch fish; the bait includes lollipops, sweets and much more, and the fishing rods are just sticks or, for example, a dog lead attached to a pulley. The fishermen there watch in amazement as beautiful, big fish are caught, whilst they’ve caught absolutely nothing. And you’ve guessed it: they too buy a big box full of lollipops to catch fish and they’re laughing their heads off because they’ve got a bite.

It makes me happy.
