Some Acrylic Paint + Structure Tests

I still paint nearly daily, I say nearly since yesterday it was soft pastel crayons during the day and I do find it easier than painting even with old ones.

For the painting underneath I used a used canvas board which would be otherwise thrown away. I added 3 layers of gesso but doubt it it was necessary. The painting still shown through. No problem. Next time I skip that step (gesso) again like I did since years.

I soaked two toilet paper rolls in water, crumpled them up, and glued them to the canvas. I just used children's glue. It's transparent in our case, not white. Only wood glue is white. It took more than two days and nights for it to dry, even though the heating was on for a while and it was drying in front of it. Next time, I'll come up with something different.

If you watch the photos you can see the steps I took.

About the sky: It dried this way. No need to use some texture paste. Paint works or add something like sand, coffee or what you have. An option is also to glue napkins, toilet paper, cardboard or cloth.

Not many brushes were needed. I used 2 but this could have been done with a sponge, spoon, piece of cloth, a stick or your finger. Creativity doesn't know any boundaries and for sure not the most expensive materials.

Nb: interesting is that the last white in the tube of Action's titanium white seems to contain more pigment.

The finishing touch is done with Silver, it's a bit watery and a thin layer over a different colour just to make it shine.

By the way, in reality it looks better and it was a fun thing to try out. This time it dried over night and after that all the structure was hard and I saved it in the basement.
