The Diarygame : Diwali Celebration in Our Hospital

in Incredible India2 months ago

Hello #steemit team,

This is @alfazmalek from #India,

Yesterday our hospital was deeped in full of festive vibes. Diwali is always a special festival in india and this year we decided to celebrate it together in our own hospital. From the morning itself, everyone was in a happy mood. Staff were talking about decorations, sweets, and small plans for the evening. Even though we work in a hospital where patients’ care is always priority, still we wanted to make this day bright and peaceful for everyone around.

In the afternoon, I arranged a training session for all housekeeping staff on safe linen management. The purpose was to remind them how important it is to handle linen properly to avoid infection spread. Many of them attended with interest, and they also shared some of their daily experiences about washing, sorting, and storing linen safely. We discussed how small changes in handling and storage can make a big difference. It felt nice to see their active participation and seriousness towards the topic.

After the training, we all started preparing for the evening. Slowly the team gathered to decorate the hospital. We placed diyas along the corridors and near the main entrance. As the lights were turned off and diyas were lit the whole place started glowing. The reflection of those small flames on the floor made everything look peaceful and divine. It didn’t even feel like a hospital for a while -it was more like a big family home celebrating together.

Later in the evening we performed Diwali pooja in the hospital kitchen area. Everyone joined — housekeeping, nursing, doctors, and admin staff. One of our staff members did the aarti and others followed with claps and prayers. The sound of the bell and the smell of burning diyas filled the air with a very positive feeling. Even though everyone was busy throughout the day that moment made us all calm and connected.

After pooja, we lit more diyas around the premises and shared sweets. Some took photos some were just sitting and enjoying the decoration. It was nice to see smiles on everyone’s face. The corridor looked beautiful with lines of diyas and soft golden light. For a few moments, it felt like Diwali had turned the hospital into a peaceful temple.

While walking around and seeing the decorations, I felt proud of my team. Everyone contributed in some or other way — from cleaning and arranging diyas to preparing for pooja. Diwali always reminds us about victory of light over darkness, and working in a hospital, this message feels even more meaningful. Our small celebration gave everyone new energy and positivity.

At the end of the day I realised festivals are not only about lights or sweets they are also about togetherness. We might be in a place full of patients and responsibilities but still we can celebrate with simplicity and love. This Diwali our hospital shined not only with diyas but also with the warmth of unity.
