ICC new rules regarding Rain affected matches hurt a lot
Hello, good afternoon and welcome to my page. I am little busy with routine so not able to makes regular post but would like to make it regularly. Today I would like to share something just got to know regarding new changes regarding matches affected by rain, so let discuss it in details.
Recently T20 Cricket world cup playing in Australia, where lots of matches abandoned due to rain and thus those teams need to share point with other team who playing with them that day. Most of the people knows that if points are same then team qualify whose Net Run Rate is better but this time its not same like it as ICC changed rules is worst according to me which may also soon need to change.
New rules are that if point are same then NRR will not count first but teams who won more matches will count first which is not fair according to me. It looks little unfair with teams who most of the matches washed out as even they have higher run rate but not qualify because not able to get chances to play more matches. Let share you example of it below.
Suppose Team A has 6 points where they won 2 matches , lost 2 matches and 2 washed out in rain. NRR - 1
Team B also has 6, point where won 1 match, lost 1 match and 4 washed out in rain. NRR - 2
In above case Team B deserve to qualify but will not qualify because not won number matches compared to Team A as even they have higher NRR but still not enough which is little surprising because Team B not got equal chances compared to Team A where they got fewer matches which is unfair.
Similar scenario going on in last week of qualification where some team played full quota of matches where some not got equal chances, so it will be got to see who will cross this line this time with new rules but hope soon it will change because every team deserve equal chance to participate and prove themselves.
