The name of this series is The Frog. The story revolves around a quiet cottage in the forest and its calm owner. In whose life suddenly a mysterious and strange young woman arrives. This series has two stories running parallel to each other—one in the past and the other in the present. I said it first and I'll say it again if you want to watch this series, you'll have to put up with a lot of patience. The main theme of the series is how a terrifying and uncomfortable psychological game slowly begins in a calm environment.
As a psychological thriller, this series is made in such a way that, seeing the helplessness and excessive passivity of the protagonist or main character throughout the series, you will start imagining yourself in his place and thinking, "If it were me, I would have ended it by now!" While I was watching the series, I was so angry that I can't express it in words. And if I tell you why I was so angry, I will ruin the fun of this entire series, so I won't say it anymore. However, the series is capable of taking the viewer through a strange emotional tension with the events of these two timelines of the past and the present.
The main message of the series is based on a Korean proverb—"When someone throws a stone into a pond for fun, some frog dies because of that stone." That is, the lives of innocent people are greatly affected by the whims of others. However, I think the deepest philosophy of this series is 'guilt'. Even if the mistakes made in the past shown in the series are not repeated in the present, the result is the same—guilty. No matter what we do in life, whether as a victim of circumstances or due to our own faults, the guilt thing remains in us.
Finally, I will tell you one thing: its storytelling was extraordinary but it is not for everyone. Only those who have the strength to withstand mental stress and keep their cool in moments of extreme anger will be able to enjoy this breathtaking psychological series!
