Incredible India Monthly Contest of January #2: Protective vs. Possessive!
Welcome to my post my good Steemit friends.
How do you glance towards the two "P's"? Describe!
I will begin by saying that the two "P's" often refer to Possessiveness and Protection in relationships. Glancing towards the two by observing how individuals behave towards their loved ones or parents.
Possessiveness: Notice if someone tends to be too jealous, controlling, or worried about losing their partner. They might restrict their interaction with their partners or constantly seek reassurance.
Protection: Observe if someone acts caring and supportive, wanting to keep their loved ones secure and safe, often with genuine concern rather than control.
Share some reasons behind the possessiveness in any relationships!
- Insecurity about oneself or a relationship.
- Fear of rejection and abandonment.
- Low self-esteem, leading to doubts about being enough.
- Societal pt cultural expectations emphasizing ownership over a partner.
Do you believe both "P's" exist in each relation we are close to? Share some pros and cons behind both "P's"!
Most relationships may have both elements, but their presence and intensity vary.
| Pros of Possessiveness | Cons of Possessiveness |
|---|---|
| Can stem from deep care and attachment. | Can lead to controlling behavior, jealousy, and mistrust |
| Might motivate someone to invest more in the relationship. | May restrict personal freedom and cause stress or resentment. |
| Pros of Protection: | Cons of Protection: |
| Creates a safe environment for loved ones. | If overdone, can turn into controlling or smothering behavior. |
| Shows genuine concern and support. | Might inhibit independence and personal growth of the loved one. |
