RE: Suggestions For Selection of Curators
Greetings friend, thank you for the mention in this post, la which is interesting to continue advancing in the changes that have been occurring and all for the improvement of our ecosystem.
I agree that clear rules should be established for selecting curators...who must have an impeccable reputation since they will be leaders and role models.
Some of your rules seem appropriate to me, however I think you should make some of them more flexible. Respecting your opinion, I would like to share my perspective on the main requirements and considerations that should be taken into account Things to consider when choosing community curators:
✓ A minimum SP of 25k, and no recent shutdown, if you do so, you must wait 6 months before you can apply for the position.
✓ Being a moderator of a community, or failing that, having had experience, as this allows you to learn a little more about how to choose a post to receive a vote. (This point seems crucial to me because, as you rightly point out, there are users who are selected for the position of curator and have no knowledge whatsoever about it).
✓ Curator teams must consist of at least three users of different nationalities. (I do not agree that only one account should be given to a single user).
These are some of the rules and suggestions that I consider key when choosing a community curator.
Thank you for accepting my invitation and sharing your priceless views. We agree on almost every point barring the one that you wish to reduce the limit from one year to 6 months in case a member powers down and wish to apply for the post of curator.
I have only given an idea along with other ideas like no member should vote and select a user from their own country therefore a team of three or more can handle this situation. I feel if accepted half the problem will be solved immediately. I also agree with your suggestion a curator should be fully conversant of all the rules including experience of moderation, etc. Thank you once again.
