Incredible India Monthly Contest of April#1: Human intelligence vs Artificial intelligence!

You order plate of hot jollof rice with goat meat. As the food comes, you want to calculate how much you will pay if you add one cold malt join it. But normally, it's a small mental maths you could have do. But instead of you to use your head, you just carry your phone, ask one AI app, and it answer you quickly. That small moment shows how AI have entered our everyday life, even for ordinary things which won't stress our brain. However,that's how it just quietly change the way we do reason, the way we live, and the way the world move.

AI can influence human cognition by making us depend less on our natural thinking. Back then, if you want to solve problem, you will sit down, think and reason about it, maybe even ask someone that knows much better. But now?, it's just to ask AI. It make life easy, but it reduce how we use our own head. For the broader world, AI have scattered the ground with innovation.

From banking to health care, transport, even entertainment, AI is everywhere. Banks use it to catch fraud, hospitals use it to diagnose sickness faster, and for abroad, motor which can drive itself is already on the road. As we all can the world is moving fast because of AI, but the question now is: are we moving too fast without balance at all?

Advantages:

• Speed and efficiency: AI is always capable of doing work which will take human hours or days within seconds. Example, checking thousands of documents for one small information.

• Accuracy: Machines don't get tired, so they can give precise result if it is programmed well. Like in hospital, AI can detect small cancer which doctor eye didn't see.

• Convenience: Life is easy. From Google Maps which shows road, to chatbots which answer customer questions anytime.

• Innovation: AI do open new doors. Self-driving cars, smart farming, even robots which can help in factory.

Disadvantages:

• Job loss: Many people started to fear that AI will collect their work. If robot can weld iron, what will happen to welder? If chatbot can answer customer, what will happen to call center worker?

• Dependence: People do always rely too much on AI. If system crash, many won't be able to think for themselves again.

• Bias and error: AI na machine which human program. If human bias enter, AI will carry it. Example, if AI is used for job interview, it will favor one group over another.

• Loss of human touch: AI don't have emotion. If you are sick, doctor which shows you empathy is different from machine that will just tells you “You get malaria.”

Yeah thats the truth. It's human brain that create AI. But now, we allow AI to control us. People are now lazy to think. Even small spelling, instead of to try it, they will wait for autocorrect. Even small direction, instead of to ask a person or use sense, they will depend on GPS. It's good thing that AI can help, but if we don't balance it, we will lose our natural intelligence.

AI is like a grinding machine. Back then , people were using stone to grind pepper, it was stressful but it trains the hand. Now, grinding machine has make life easy. But if we don't have light, that's the problem. Same with AI—if system is not available, many people brain will be blank. We suppose to use AI as helper, not as our master. Because if we allow AI to think for us every time, we will turn to machine which doesn't have sense of our own.

Finally we have learned that, Artificial Intelligence is a double-edged sword in the world today. Therefore It's sweet, and fast, and also powerful. But if we don't use it with wisdom, it can make us to be dull. We all know that “too much of everything is bad.” So let's use AI to support our life, but still train our brain too. Because its human sense that makes us unique. AI cab calculate, but it can't reason like human that have heart and conscience. So let's shine our eye—AI is a tool, not a replacement for our intelligence.
