Incredible India Monthly Contest of June#1: Social Responsibility!
We always see people begging on the roadside, with that let's assume you are walking on the road with your friends laughing and gisting and you see one little boy crying because of hunger and begging people for money, what will you do at that moment? Will you walk away with your friends like you didn't see him or you will stop and give him any little thing you have? This kind of moment can show us what “social responsibility” mean. Life is not only about what you would eat or what you would gather in your pocket. Life is also about how you can make another person smile, how you can make the community better. So let's dive in more about social responsibility
How Do You Glance Towards the Word Social Responsibility? |
|---|
However, social responsibility do sounds like a big grammar, but if we break it down it simply mean that as we live, we have another duty to help society. So it really not about the government alone, it's also about us, that's you and me. If you throw dirt on the road, it's irresponsibility. If you help in keeping the environment clean, that's responsibility. If you cheat people in the market, that's irresponsibility. If you sell good product which will benefit people, that's responsibility.
Therefore social responsibility can be seen in little things like: how you treat your neighbour, how you respect elders, how you contribute to the community. It's like when landlord fix borehole in the compound, even though it's not a government work. Thats a social responsibility.
Do You Believe At Least One Community Service Must Be a Part of Our Responsibility? |
|---|
Yes, community service is compulsory if we want to see better a better community. Community service doesn't mean that you must have a lot money before you can do it. Even small effort is count. Example: if you join hand in sweeping the street on sanitation day, that's service. If you volunteer to teach children for free, that's service.
Community service do show that we care for each other. That's why in some village, when a person wants to build house, neighbours will gather to help him carry blocks. That a pure community service. If everybody do at least one service, society will be balanced. It's like everybody adding small stone to build one big house.
Charity Makes Us Rich! Do You Believe This Term? |
|---|
Charity doesn't reduce a person, it's add some value. Some people do think that if you give, you lose. But the truth is that, when you give, you will gain respect, blessing, and joy which money couldn't buy. That's why the Bible says “givers never lack.”
In my country Nigeria, charity is shown in different ways. A woman that has a restaurant on the road side can give one plate free to a beggar. A rich man can sponsor scholarship for children which doesn't have money. Even small boy can share biscuit with his friend. All these are charity.
Charity make us rich because it builds goodwill. People do remember you in your kindness. Tomorrow, if you are in need, it's that same people that will rush to help you. Richness is not only about money, it's about peace of mind, respect, and legacy. If you give, you plant seed which will grow tomorrow.
My Conclusion |
|---|
To conclude it all, social responsibility is a matured moment which concern everybody. If you are a human living in mids of other people, you can't say that you don't have a role to play. At least one community service is necessary, because that's a good way of building strong society. And charity, make us rich in ways which money can't measure. Always remember that your small act can change life.
