This is me @kathy-cute from Philippines and you are here Reading my Blog. I hope you all are enjoying the 12th season here. I am participating in the fourth week of this season. This is my participation in a contest The grand festival in my country.
What is the grand festival in your country, and how do you celebrate that festival?(Mention some rituals if you follow). |

Philippine is a country with Christan majority, so ofcourse the greatest festival here is Christmas. We celebrate new year as a festival too. But let me tell you about our country side and a traditional festival which we celebrate with full zeal and spirit.
The festival which I am going to talk about is “fiesta” from Spanish word. Fiesta is actually a dancing festival in which all the virgin girls of the village participate. They wear different costumes and make their own groups. These groups then dance together in a circle like shape. Each group has it's own leader.
Fiesta is famous for that dancing of the girls. Even you can see hundred of girls dancing on the roads.
In fiesta we don't only have dancing. The municipality organizes different sports contest like basketball, volleyball and many other games. Motorcycle racing is also the most favorite contest amongst the riders. Indeed the whole village bloom in this festival. Everywhere you can see people Laughing, dancing, cooking food and enjoying with their family and friends.

I would really love to celebrate it with my family and friends. This is the most celebrated festival in our village. Even the villages near us admit that our village is at top in celebrating fiesta. People from other Villages come here to our place and see our celebration.
I am always the most active person in my family regarding this festival. I even enjoy it more than Christmas. This is my most favorite one. I participate in dancing, volleyball tournament, and basketball events. It's too much fun for me in fiesta festival. I really really love it.

As I have said I participate in every event in this festival. Last year I introduced this festival to my friends at my hostel and took them to my place. We have made a dancing team together and danced there on the road. That was so special moment for me my friends were dancing with me, their hands are in hands with me.
Actually they celebrate fiesta in their place too, but they don't have that much big celebration. They focus on Christmas celebration the more. They took me to their Christmas celebration which was very much awesome.
So as I said in their village they don't have that much celebration, we made a plan let's celebrate this year fiesta in our village. They already know about our village celebration. I had my friend she is very good at volleyball and she took us to the final. Unfortunately we lost that final, but still we enjoyed alot.
These are the things that make this festival so important for me, and I have some beautiful memories here too. We have planned we will celebrate next year fiesta in our village again.

I am pleased to know that your town is the most visited by people from other nearby towns. As you describe in your publication, the town festivals are exciting, fun and more joyful. I like to play volleyball, I often play it with my brothers in the park. It makes me happy that you are also athletes, as well as beautiful and wearing beautiful dresses like the ones in the photos in your publication.
They almost won the volleyball final, the important thing is that they participated and gave their best and competed with class.
I understand that it is more pleasant for you to spend and celebrate the festivals of the young virgins with all their activities, entertainment, music, good people and gastronomy than to go somewhere else.
