The need to take care of one's self cannot be overstated. We don't even need to be told but somehow we have to be reminded of this golden rule of life because we get caught up many times chasing those things we call essentials and then forget that the one chasing it needs to be taken care of.
Some of us work tirelessly trying to make ends meet, many even travel in the process, going from place to place trying to please a boss and to be in his good books. Of course you know what that means, it could mean promotion for many, hence the extra effort which eventually tell on their well being.

Many do not even work under anybody but trust me they work like jackal knowing fully well that the venture is theirs but then one need to take things easy and slow down when one really needs to. Take breaks and rest when the body calls for it and most time take break before the body calls so you don't breakdown. Come to think of it, who inherits all these things if the unexpected happens suddenly because of one's neglect?
Taking care of yourself means paying attention to your wellbeing, your health status. Even one's eating habits can the reason why he is gradually loosing it, healthwise. One can be so caught up with work that he or she forgets to eat when necessary. I've been there, there were days when I had to go a full whole day without eating, the only thing I can recall taking is water to stay hydrated...

Was it deliberate? Absolutely no, but somehow It happened that way, it used to be later in the evening when the task has been achieved or done to a remarkable extent that hunger suddenly come rushing at me wanting to devour me. If this is what you're experiencing then you should be careful, you shouldn't make it habitual. Taking care of yourself also include taking a break to relax, when I mean relax I mean staying off work especially on days when you feel tired and you know your body needs that rest. There is no need forming a macho man or iron lady, even macho men collapse under stress and extreme tiredness, so you see... unsplash
Sometime you need to take your mind off your work activities or anything that seem to occupy your mind so much because resting is not dropping the tool at work to stay off work, it also means taking work off your mind so your brain can also rest. Many drop their work tool but forgot their brain has also become a tool used at work for their excellent deliveries. Hence the reason why the brain needs to be aware that the rest is needed and must cooperate. Moments like these are when you distract yourself as much as possible to do those things that naturally make you happy outside work, this help the mind relax and free of stress. It could be a moment with friends and family, it could be taking a walk in a serene environment, it could be a hangout or even a date with someone special. It could even be going out to watch a movie in the cinema or even staying at home to do some culinary chores, I mean do what make you happy. This helps send a message to yourself through your mind that you really care about you and your wellbeing. Thank you! Regards
